OWENS POV
Amelia was sitting at the counter on her computer. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her.
"Hey," She said cutely.
"Hey," I said, "I've got a question for you."
"What is it?" She chuckled.
"When do you want to get married?" I asked.
"Right now," she joked.
"I'd do it," I chuckled.
"We definitely need to plan soon," she said, "I just feel like we've been overwhelmed with the kids and stuff."
"Yeah I know," I said, "I don't want to rush it."
"No me either," she said.
"Whenever and whatever we do will be perfect because you will be my beautiful bride," I said. She blushed and turned around and smiled.
"I love you," She said.
"I love you too," I said. She got up and hugged me.
"I don't want to go back to work tomorrow," she frowned.
"I miss you at work," I said.
"I know but I'm gonna miss the kids," She pouted, "it was nice spending so much time with them."
"Yeah," I said.
AMELIAS POV
Mike was coming over any minute and I really had to pull myself together to not kill him for letting Emma get a nose ring. She came downstairs and pulled her hair in a bun.
"Can you not pester him or harass him when he gets here?" She said, this was technically the first time I was really meeting him.
"I won't," I said. The doorbell rang and she smiled. I followed her to the door and she opened it and Mike smiled.
"Hi Ms.Shepherd," he said politely, "I'm Mike."
"Hi," I said. He was very polite I'd give him that. He smiled at Emma and they went downstairs into the basement. I wish Owen was here because he kept me calm and sane when it came to Mike.
EMMAS POV
Mike and I were playing Mario Kart in the basement. He was so cute. Surprisingly my mom hadn't come down to check on us 20 times, maybe she trusted me? Definitely not.
"So your mom didn't kill you about the nose ring?" He chuckled.
"No," I chuckled, "probably because Owen told her not to. He reasons with her."
"Well that's good," he said.
"He also likes the nose ring," I chuckled. Mike chuckled and kissed my head.
"I like it I think it's cute," he said.
"Me too," I said.
"Cute like you," he smiled and kissed me softly. We got back to the game and I heard the basement door open.
"I'm surprised it's taken my mom this long to come down and check on us," I joked.
"Me too," he said. I heard my mom walk down the steps and we both looked in her direction. She came down the stairs and smiled.
"You guys need anything?" She asked. I looked at Mike and he shrugged.
"I think we're good," I said, "thanks though."
"Okay," she said and went back upstairs. I laid down and laid my head on Mikes lap. He ran his fingers through my hair as we continued to play the WII.
"You're pretty good at this," he chuckled.
"I have two younger siblings," I chuckled, "I've had a lot of practice."
"Yeah I'm the youngest," he said.
"You have two older brothers?" I asked.
"Yeah and a sister," he said.
"That's cool," I said.
"Yeah," He said.
AMELIAS POV
Besides the drinking, Mike seemed like a very polite and nice kid. He seemed very nice to Emma and I could tell she really liked him. They were in the basement right now and I made sure to check on them. Owen should be home soon and then I have to go get Izzy and Joey from their camp. I looked down at my phone and I had a text from Owen.
"Hey last minute surgery, be home closer to 6," he sent. I frowned because that meant I had to leave Emma and Mike here alone to go get the kids, and I had to take Asher with me.
"No worries😉" I sent. I looked at the time and I should get going. I decided not to bother Mike and Emma again and I'll just text her.
"Hey Owens running late I have to go pick up Joey and Izzy, I'm taking Asher with me, please behave here for a few minutes while I go get them," I sent.
"Okay," she sent.
"I'm serious," I sent, "behave."
"Mom I know," she sent.
"Ok I love you," I sent.
"Love you too," she sent. I walked into the living room and Asher was in his little play pen on the ground. I walked over and picked him up.
"Come in little guy we gotta go get your siblings," I said and kissed his head. He started crying as he reached for his toy that was on the ground. I chuckled and bent down and grabbed it for him. He stopped crying and snuggled into me. I locked the door behind me and got Asher adjusted in his car seat. I got in my car and turned the radio on and started driving to Izzy and Joeys summer camp. They loved it there and they went on a lot of trips, and a bunch of their school friends went there so that was good. I pulled into the parking lot and I saw Joey running towards me. I got out of the car and smiled.
"Hey buddy how was camp?" I asked.
"Good!" He smiled.
"Where's izzy?" I chuckled.
"She's with her friend," he said and pointed to Izzy talking to her friend Victoria. I smiled and Joey got in the car as I waved Izzy over. She came running over to the car and jumped in.
"So how was everyone's day?" I asked.
"Good," they both said.
"Okay why don't you tell me one good thing that happened today?" I said.
"Can i go first!" Joey said.
"Yes," I chuckled.
"Today we got to go to the zip line at the back of the camp! It was so cool," Joey said.
"I did that too," Izzy said.
"That sounds like fun," I smiled.
"Yeah," they both smiled. They were so cute. I started driving home and I was praying that Emma and Mike were okay home alone. I pulled into the driveway and saw Owen's car and smiled. I opened the car door and picked asher up. He snuggled into me and I knew he needed a nap.
"Okay guys go inside and make sure you wash your hands," I said to Joey and Izzy. They ran inside and I followed them. Emma and Mike were now in the living room and it looked like they were helping each other with their summer work. I smiled and walked into the kitchen where Owen was starting dinner.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hey," he said. Asher giggled which was so cute.
"You want to say hi to daddy?" I said cutely and lifted him up. Owen smiled and took him into his arms. I pecked Owen's lips and smiled.
"How was work?" I asked.
"Good," he said, "long day."
"I'm sure," I said.
"How was having him here?" He asked, meaning Mike.
"Uh good I guess," I said.
"He's nice," Owen said, "introduced himself to me."
"Yeah," I said.
"Have you gotten over the nose ring situation?" He chuckled.
"I guess so," I sighed.
"Good," he said. Asher started to fuss and I frowned.
"I'm gonna go take him upstairs," I said, "think he needs a nap."
"Okay," Owen said. He handed Asher to me and I smiled at him. He looked like Owen so much it was insane.
