EDITED

When my eyes found the familiar blonde at the checkout I grinned and pushed my trolley into the conveyer belt to get her attention. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for your hot date, Mr Parker?" Megan grinned and stood up from her seat to start scanning the items I began placing down.

"You know there's something quiet kinky about calling me that so while we're out the classroom, it's just Danny."

She laughed loudly but stop scanning the items to let me finish unloading. "What are your plans?" She asked leaning on her counter.

"Dinner. I was going to do Fajitas, does she like them?" I asked suddenly terrified that even the smallest thing could ruin it. She thought for a moment before nodding.

"Yes but she doesn't like sauces so no salsa or sour cream."

My eyes fell to salsa and sour cream. As if seeing my thought, she picked them from the belt and stuck them behind her to be out back later. Then I shook my head, "Wait but she likes pasta sauces?"

"Only white ones."

"She likes lasagne though?" I argued, part of me desperate to prove I remembered these things about her.

"She also likes enchiladas, but you won't catch her eating a bolognaise."

I sighed and looked down to all the ingredients as I moved over to the packing area. "What about the dessert? I got that right, right?" Megan's eyes drifted to the items and smirk started to grow on her face. I tensed as her hand reached out to the little blue box.

"By dessert did you mean..."

"I meant the brownies, she has a sweet tooth." I defended taking the condoms from her hand and shoving them into a bag. "I'm not planning that tonight alright." I wasn't sure who I was trying to convince. "Dinner, then we'll talk about what's going on. Then, I'll take her home."

She slowly nodded as if she didn't believe me before she continued. "What do you think is going to happen? I mean it's not like a normal situation." I nodded in agreement, continuing to pack into my plastic bags.

"No its not a normal situation. And I need to make it incredibly clear, we're only in this situation because of France. If I just met here in the classroom, I never would pursue it. I'm not that guy."

She thought about it, finishing with my items and folding her arms on the counter as she leant forward. "I think we know that. And you have to trust us, Scar and I would never encourage her if there wasn't already history. If we didn't already know what was between the two of you."

My lips began to spread out into a grin. "So, she likes me then huh?" Megan laughed again.

"Of course she likes you. I'm pretty sure she's already started getting ready to see you tonight." I nodded again, ridiculously happy at that knowledge, and pulled out my debit card to pay. "Did she tell you Adams back in town?"

I froze after the beep of my card on the machine. "Adam as in her ex Adam?" She nodded. "Adam that moved to America Adam?" She nodded again. "No," I breathed. "No I didn't know."

She let out a sigh and made sure there was no customers coming before she sat back down in her chair. "We saw him at a party on Saturday. You can put your mind at rest because she pretty much told him to fuck off." It eased me, and I supposed she didn't need to tell me, but I wish I had known. "As far as I know, her mind is on you and only you."

I nodded, thankful for the information and the reassurance. "I better go." I said and loaded the bags back into my trolley. "You spoken to J at all since we got back?"
