EDITED

I chuckled and nodded with my head to the car park. Zach turned his head to where I gestured. Jamie had climbed out of his white range rover. The suit sticking out like a sore thumb as he approached the diner. "You look like an accountant." I commented as he took a seat next to Zach in the booth.

"I am an accountant." He said and picked up a menu. "I've only got an hour." Once the waitress came over and took our orders, he loosened the tie around his neck and turned to us confused. "What?"

Zach scoffed, picking up his plastic cup of coke. "You look ridiculous."

Jamie turned to me, his eyes scanning me. "What so he can dress like an actual professional adult, but I can't?" I chuckled and looked down to my white shirt rolled to the sleeves and blue tie. "When was the last time you even changed your shirt?" He commented looking at Zach's white t-shirt covered in black stains.

"I have no one to impress." He commented, leaning back in the booth. His eyes going back to the glass beside us where he had perfect view of his garage. "Perks of owning your own business."

I chuckled, following his line of sight to the run-down garage with a hand full of cars in the car park. "Yeah, business is booming," Zach smirked at my sarcasm, as he turned back to me, taking another sip of his drink.

"I don't have to dress up because I'm not A," He turned to Jamie, "fucking my assistant, and B," He turned to me and I begged him not to say it. "fucking my student."

I looked down to the apple watch on my wrist, just to have something else to look at. "You know I really wish you wouldn't say it like that."

Zach didn't respond as the waitress came back with our lunch. As soon as she left, he popped a chip in his mouth. "Why? Is it not true?"

I frowned and opened my burger to take out the tomato. "No it's not true actually. We are very much not..." I looked around, something about using that word when it came to Haylie didn't feel right. "We haven't slept together." I settled on.

Both of them seemed to freeze in their movements. "Still?" Jamie was the first to speak again as he slowly chewed his sandwich. "You still haven't had sex."

Zach surprisingly started to laugh. "Oh man. You are so whipped." He commented and took a bite of his own sandwich. A new glint in his eyes. I opened my mouth, but my phone buzzed. I turned my wrist to see Haylie had text me.

How's your day going? X

I couldn't help smiling as I pulled my phone out my pocket to respond. When I looked back up Zach's glint had gone. "Whipped." He repeated and took another bite of his burger.

I sighed and lifted up my own burger. "Listen, this is what I wanted to talk about." I said before taking a bite. Once I had finished, I started again. "Friday night, I want to make sure you don't say anything that's going to upset her."

Zach rolled his eyes and turned his head to look at Jamie still engrossed in his sandwich. "Don't look at me. I came for lunch. He's talking to you."

Zach turned back to me, looking for confirmation it was directed just at him. "What makes you think I'll do that?" I coked my head taking another bite.

"Dude. I'm not going to go into it because you know what you did." I sighed, finishing my mouthful. "I'm just telling you now. You can't be a dickhead to my girlfriend."

He scoffed in response and lifting his burger again, his eyes on it as if he were looking for the perfect bite. "She's not your girlfriend." Even Jamie's chewing got slower. "What?" He asked when my eyes hardened on him. "It's true right? She's not your girlfriend and you're not fucking so, I actually don't have to be nice to her at all."
