Daniel pov
My fist met the metal door the same second the slam of the front one sounded through my apartment indicating she was gone. It didn't even dent. That was the point of it though. To cage a monster.
I took deep breaths, running my hands through my hair as I tried to calm myself down.
It was fixable. I told myself over and over again. She wasn't gone for good. I would find a way. I would tell her the truth if I had too. It wasn't over. It was Haylie. It was me and Haylie. It wasn't ever going to be over.
I sank down, my back against the door as I kept telling myself all the lies that would stop me from lashing out and chasing after her.
"You do not look good brother." I lifted my head. I had been so focussed on my breathing I hadn't even heard my front door open again. I slowly got back to my feet, my jaw clenched. "Trouble with the mrs?"
"What are you doing here T?" I gritted out. My fists started to clench at my sides as I moved away from the room.
He shrugged. "I wanted to bond with you. We haven't talked in a while." I watched as he looked around my place, taking steps closer down the short hallway. "Let's talk about Haylie. She is a stunner isn't she." He whistled low as he continued another few steps. "I suppose now that it's over for you, she's available?" I continued trying to take deep breaths. I couldn't let him bait me. "Because I got to tell you. There a number of things I would like to do to that tight little..."
I lost control.
My hands gripped his collar, my claws shredding through the material to break skin as I flung him into my own cage. "I'm afraid she wouldn't be very responsive." I laughed as I ran my tongue over the canines hanging in my mouth.
T looked up from where he had landed, a hint of excitement in his eyes as he took in my half form. "There's the brother I know and love." He growled, as he started to shift his own face. Before he could even finish I lifted him, slamming his back into the wall.
My fist met his face, once, twice and a third time to ensure he didn't shift completely. "One more centimetre and I bet I could have blinded you." I laughed as I ran a claw down the scar, I had left the last time we met. "You're lucky father pulled me away when he did." Finally, I saw a hint of fear in his eyes. "I guess lucks has run out."
I dropped him to the floor with a thud as my foot met his rib cage. He screamed out with the sound of his ribs breaking. "Oh, what's wrong baby brother?" I laughed, the thrill of his scream cursing through me. "I thought this was what you wanted? A fight to the death."
I bent down, sinking my claws into his neck as I pulled his head back to meet my cold black eyes. "Yours obviously." I lifted my free hand, ready to strike at his jugular and end this once and for all, until sharp prick hit the side of my neck.
"You don't want to do this." I growled back, my hand reaching for the syringe but before I could pull it out Zach's hand wrapped around it and he used his other to free Travis from my hold. "Get the fuck out of here." He growled.
I wanted to fight back, but it was too late. The wolfsbane had already gotten into my veins and I was falling. Falling back and down as Zach gently guided me and I stopped feeling so angry. I had enough conscious to look down at my hands.
I was human again.
Haylie pov
I sat at a round table in the atrium as I picked at my pathetic salad I bought for an extortionate rate of £4.50 but had no intention of eating. Matt and Ollie continued talking as if they didn't notice my foul mood and I was thankful for it, until they suddenly fell quiet.
