A week later

Haylie pov

"Guess what?" I grinned as I shut Daniels classroom door and locked it behind me.

He turned from the whiteboard, the grey dress shirt tucked into the black pants making him look even more sexy than ever. As if reading my thoughts he winked before turning back to writing. "What is it?"

"You're supposed to guess." I pushed, moving away from the door and squeezing in between the board and his body so he had no choice but to pay me attention. He smiled instantly.

"You're going to smudge my work." He said but his eyes were anything but serious.

"Then guess." I begged making him sigh and run a hand through his effortlessly styled hair. He opened his mouth but before he could say another thing I squealed. "I got the job!"

He dropped the pen and caught my half jump before I could even process his reaction. "Oh Haylie that's amazing." He laughed into hair as I had my arms wrapped round his neck so tightly I was sure it was hard to breathe. "Scarlett too?"

I nodded and dropped back down to my feet, letting him brush the hair from my face with gentle care. "Yep, we both have our first shift tomorrow evening." He shook his head the grin still firmly in place.

"God, I'm going to get to see you so much more." I frowned cocking my head. "I mean it, the amount of times you can tell your parents your working and be with me instead." I laughed and finally moved away from the gap between him and the whiteboard.

"Daniel, I will have actual shifts to work." I pointed out but he only moved with a speed I didn't know he had and pinned me to the desk.

"I'll put you to work I promise." He growled just as his lips met my ear. "And I'll pay." I laughed as his teeth grazed the spot on my neck he had learnt sent me into a puddle. Without warning he pulled away. "I mean it though," He said standing up straight and resting his hands under my hair on my neck. "I'm proud of you. We can celebrate tonight if you can get away?"

I pretended to think about it for a second before nodding. "Yeah, me and the girls were talking about going to the pub but obviously I haven't reached the golden age yet so will be leaving before the real party time begins." I was surprised to see his smile drop a little. "Oh right," I sighed. "It doesn't really matter because it's not like you could come to the pub with us."

He shook his head slowly and rested his lips on my forehead. "Sorry." I shook my head a lot faster. "I know it's not my fault." He stole the words from my mouth. "But still, it would be nice to be able to go out and celebrate like a normal couple."

"I would take you over normal any day." I confessed forcing that grin back to his face. I wanted to tell him I loved him. I've wanted to tell him since the day he told me but I hadn't, it hasn't felt perfect enough and I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted to be sure I would say it and he wouldn't be disappointed. He wouldn't run away.

"I love you." He always said it. And I'm sure he said it more in the times when I wanted to, as if he knew my heart was racing with it, and he was telling me it was okay not to say it. Like he would say it for the both of us. "At least we can be normal at Simons wedding?" He suggested. "You and me, dancing and drinking. You'll mingle with my family. It will be the most normal thing in the world."

I laughed and nodded along, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I'm slightly glad you can't mingle with my family." He frowned. "I mean it, compared to yours, they're the worst. No game nights, no family events. We barely even go out for dinner for a birthday."
