EDITED

Haylie pov

"So, are you excited for this weekend?" Scarlett asked me as we walked to my locker.

"Yeah of course. I've never been to a festival." I said as I opened it and started putting books inside.

She leant against the metal next to me. "Yeah but it's not a normal festival, It's a car thing. Dwayne said no bands playing just cars racing." She said making me smile.

"Dwayne said huh?" I teased as she blushed. "How are things going with dreads?" I asked using the nickname we gave him when we first met him.

She just shrugged. "He's great. But he's odd." She said strangely as I shut my locker and we made our way to the library.

"Odd how?" She shrugged again. "I thought you liked him? Didn't you go on another date?"

She nodded but I could tell she was holding back. "Yeah but he took me go karting. Which was fun don't get me wrong, but it didn't give us a chance to talk."

"Well this weekend maybe you should try and get some more alone time. I'll help you, if anyone wants him, I'll point them the other way." I joked bashing her shoulder.

She laughed as we entered the room and sat down at a computer each, ready to start on our uni applications.

"I have a question for you." she whispered after a few minutes of working. I turned to her telling her to continue. "Do you think Danny liked you because you made him wait for sex?"

I paused for a moment, I never really thought about it like that. "I don't know. Maybe that's the reason he's stuck around. He actually got to know me instead of jumping into bed like he did with every other girl." I said and she looked deep in thought. "Why do you ask?"

"Because I want to wait with Dwayne. I know he's slept with a lot of girls. Just like the rest of the guys. But I've never felt this way about a guy before and I don't want him to flee once he gets what he wants." She admitted and I just chuckled.

"What he wants, Scarlett Anderson, is you." I said and she shrugged not really believing it. "Trust me. Dwayne likes you."

We went silent again and continued working. Then I started to think about this weekend. Deciding to voice my concerns to my friend. "Scar." I whispered to get her attention. "Aren't you a bit nervous about what will happen if our parents find out we aren't in Great Yarmouth." She didn't say anything for a moment but then bit her lip and nodded.

"I've never lied to them this much. I feel like that's all we've done lately." She said exactly what I was thinking. "Lie about where we are, who we're with, what we're doing..." She trailed off and I nodded.

"Yeah, I know. Are we bad kids?" I asked. "I mean could you imagine if your kids were doing what we're doing?"

She nodded still biting her lip. "Maybe we aren't bad kids, we just aren't doing what our parents would like us to." She suggested and I nodded.

I clicked my tongue then looked at the time. "Okay well Daniel has a free so I'm going to go see him. Are you okay here?" I asked and she nodded with a smile.

When I reached Daniels room, I knocked just to make sure no one else was in there and he yelled come in. "Hey." I smiled and he looked up from his papers and sighed with a smile that melted me.

"Haylie." He breathed and opened his arms.

Since he didn't move out his chair, I just locked the door and made my way to sit on his lap. "You okay?" I asked as his hold around my waist was very tight and head was buried in my shoulder.
