Scarlett pushed open the double white French doors and even she seemed a little surprise at how much her aunt had upgraded us. "Fuck me." Megan breathed when we saw the luxury gifted to us.

"That's what she said." Scarlett laughed and rolled her suitcase into the living area. There were three sofas altogether position towards a fireplace right in the middle of the room. Behind that appeared a long dining table sat in-between the marble white kitchen and the floor to ceiling windows out towards the beach. "Two of us will have to share a bathroom."

"Oh, the poverty!" Megan exclaimed falling against me the same time I fell against her.

"How could we be expected to share a bathroom. This is outrageous!" Scarlett only stared at us. "We'll share." I said dropping the sarcasm and standing straight again.

She scoffed. "Obviously. It's my aunties hotel."

"Why did you make it seem like we had a choice then?" Megan asked, rolling in her own suitcase and huge duffel.

"Being polite." She said sweetly. "Your rooms are there. I'm over here." I watched as she walked past the dining table to the one door at the end of the room, while Megan walked to the opposite side.

My eyes fell behind the sofas to the balcony stretching the length of the suite and the double doors. As soon as I opened them, I was surprised to be welcomed with a small pool and a set of table and chairs towards the back where I assume the other set of doors led to Scarlett's room.

The sun beamed of the pool and I couldn't help myself when I took off my sunglasses and jumped into the cold water. "You didn't want to change?" Scarlett laughed as she came out of her room in her bright blue bikini. Without waiting for a response, she jumped in splashing me. She came up and screamed from how cold the water was.

I jumped out of my skin when there was a second splash from behind me. As soon as Megan's head popped up, I pushed the water at her. "Didn't your mum take you bikini shopping?" She teased.

"Holiday, remember." I retorted splashing her again.

An hour later we were all unpacked and lying out by the pool. "So, what are the plans for Haylie's birthday tonight?" Megan asked and I checked the time. It was only 11 since we opted for a ridiculously early flight.

"Let's grab some lunch in town and then we can see what's on tonight?" Scarlett suggested sitting up from sunbathing.

I nodded looking up from my book. "Yeah sounds good I'm starving. Do you know where to eat?" I asked and Scarlett nodded.

"I know a great place. We could go to the beach after?" She said, so we stood up and went to change.

Instead of getting out my bikini I pulled on a cropped white tank and pair of short grey jersey shorts. I took one look in the mirror and pulled the shorts off, remembering I'm not on holiday with my parents and I need to actually make the effort in case we take pictures or, we do see some cute French guys I can't resist. I pulled on a short, light blue floral skirt instead.

I brushed out my hair, throwing my sun glasses on my face with some lip balm and a white beach bag. "Got sun cream?" I asked Scarlett as she waited in the kitchen area.

"And water." She replied showing the water from the fridge.

"God, you're such parents." Megan mumbled as she walked out of her room, tying her hair into a knot on her head, dressed in an oversized grey t-shirt and trainers. I envied how effortless she was.
