EDITED - Haylie and Daniel

One week later

"Zach put the poor girl down!" I laughed watching as Zach lifted Megan into the air and threw her over his shoulder. She was screaming but it was obvious how much fun she was having by the smile on her face.

I lifted my cigarette to my mouth but just before I could take a drag a body jumped onto my back. I dropped the stick quickly and hoisted her up on my back properly. "Careful, I could have burnt you." I warned but she only kissed my cheek, wrapping her arms around my neck.

"I was supposed to scare you." She whined, dropping her chin on my shoulder.

"You did. I was terrified." I lied, gripping her legs to hoist up a little higher.

She grunted, jumping down to my displeasure. "Liar." I only hummed in response as she came round to face me and I leant down to kiss her lips for the first time in all of 20 minutes.

I moaned, tasting the ice cream on her mouth. "My favourite." I teased, holding her face in place while I kissed all around her mouth.

"Hey lovebirds!" I looked above Haylie's head and saw Ben waving us over. "You coming or not?"

I laced my fingers with Haylie's and headed towards my rental land rover while the others went to Zach and Jamie's. We had rented another car purely because of these girls now attached to our hips. It wasn't even a chore and when I suggested it Jamie was quick to agree.

I noticed how Haylie kicked off her shoes and rested her feet on the dashboard but instead of being annoyed like I would be with any other person this entire planet, I smiled. "What?" Her sweet voice echoed to my ears. "You want me to take them down?" I shook my head.

"No. No, you can do literally do whatever you want."

She smiled wearily in response. "What's that supposed to mean?" I shrugged to myself.

"I mean I have known you for a week and I realise there is not a single thing about you that can annoy me."

"That's because you've only known me for a week." She teased, and while she had a point, it felt like so much longer.

It felt like I had known her forever. We had slept in the same bed every day since we met. I woke up with her in my arms and I went to sleep with her scent in my nose. We talked into early hours of the morning and I made her a tea every day after she woke up. It was perfect.

"Hey I mean it." She suddenly said, pulling me back to reality. "Daniel you have only known me a week. I have plenty of flaws and annoying habits. And when you discover them, you will regret ever saying I can do whatever I like."

I couldn't even imagine it. A flaw. "Like what?" I asked. Before she answer, she looked down to her phone and froze. "What is it?" Her heart had started beating heavy in her chest as she stared at it.

"De ja vu I guess." She mumbled, opening up her iphone. "Adam just followed me on twitter." She said and I couldn't help frowning. It wasn't exactly heart stopping worthy. When she noticed, she forced out a laugh. "It's stupid, but he would always unfollow me or block me and then refollow me just to get me thinking about him again."

I scoffed. "Wow, you really let that go on for two years?"

"You've never been in love Daniel. You wouldn't understand." There was a hint of annoyance in her tone and I hated that it hurt me.

I loosened my grip on the wheel, trying to appear as casual as possible. "Try me."

"It's just hard." She said as if the word, 'hard' explained all of her pain. "When you are with someone that you really like and you think they really like you, and they just disappear, they don't really just disappear." I could hear it in the crack of her voice more than the blips in her heart. "You still have it all in your mind, like memories stupid bits of information about them. And when something triggers those memories, it's like they're back and it's shit."
