EDITED - Daniel and Haylie on the beach.
Daniel pov
I woke up and took a deep breath, scenting her without needing to open my eyes. I scooted a fraction closer, tightening my arms and smiled when she hummed in her sleep.
I looked to the clock and saw it was already 9 so the movement downstairs was probably the boys. It must have been the boys because that much noise definitely belonged to inconsiderate males. I slowly pulled my arm out from underneath her and pulled on some grey joggers from the floor. "Good morning sunshine!" Jamie said, throwing his sight-seeing brochure down on the island.
Zach was buttering toast while Ben worked on something at the hob. Both looked up with grins when I walked in. "Hey." I mumbled, making my way to the coffee machine. Hopefully avoiding the teasing.
"Where's the girlfriend?" Zach asked as he looked back down to his surprisingly large stack of toast.
I chuckled behind my mug with a shrug. "Haylie, is upstairs, still in bed." I paused before my sip, catching the two girls outside sat at the table. "They stayed last night too?"
Jamie turned to where my attention as directed and nodded. "Yeah they were looking for Haylie so I told them to crash here. They were too drunk to even tell me what hotel they were staying at."
"Well, I like them." Ben confessed, turning to face me for a minute before continuing to cook. "They're hot. Banter is top tier. And did I mention they're hot." He said and Jamie nodded agreeing.
Zach jumped up on the counter, picking up his own mug of coffee. "They're also only 17. Speaking of which," He started, pointing towards me. "What happened last night? Did you, do it?" There was a hint to Zach's voice I didn't like. Like he wasn't sure how he felt about it.
I shrugged and took another sip. "We slept that's it." They all seemed to freeze.
"You mean you didn't fuck her?" Ben asked and I shook my head.
"Nope, we just slept." I said trying to hide the stupid grin on my face.
"You, Daniel Parker, slept in a bed with a girl and didn't have sex?" Zach questioned
I nodded again. "Have you ever slept next to a girl?" I asked placing my mug down and they all shook their heads.
"No." Zach scoffed. "We fuck. Then wait for them to fall asleep before bolting."
I thought about how she felt in my arms, how comforting it was to not sleep alone. "You should really try it." I said with a small chuckle. "It's really..." I tried to think of the right word. "It's nice." I said and felt a sharp pain on the back of my head.
Zach had jumped down from the counter and hit me. "Stop it." He said and I stood up straight, half trying to reassert my dominance. "I thought you turned your emotions off? How are you getting all mushy over a girl?"
"I'm not getting mushy." I denied.
"You're kind of mushy." Jamie said with a smile.
I put my mug back down on the counter. "Look, I thought my emotions were off too." I confessed. "But somehow when I met her, they came back on. And I don't want to turn them off yet." Zach folded his arms. "She's not my mate okay, she's human it's impossible. But for some reason I do like her." This time he full on frowned. I just gave him a tight-lipped smile and lifted my mug again.
"Um, hi?" We all turned to the archway and found a very shy looking Haylie. I couldn't help smiling at the sight of her in my shirt from last night, a pair of my boxers underneath. She smiled back but tried to pull the shirt down a little more. "I didn't have any other clothes to wear." She confessed and I nodded.
