EDITED
We finally made it back to my apartment at 10 after hitting traffic as we drove through London.
I got out the car with Ben following just as Zach and Jamie exited Zach's car. "Do you have a plan for getting them inside? Maybe we should go to the garage instead then we don't have to worry about this."
I had thought about it on the drive, but I wanted them somewhere comfortable. I wanted her comfortable. In my bed. Tonight.
The sound of another car door slammed and we turned our attention to Dwayne approaching. "How's Scarlett?" It was the first time in a long time he looked remotely serious. I motioned with my head to Zach back seat but he didn't try and approach. "Does she know that I'm not..."
"We haven't talked yet." Zach said in answer to the question. "Danny it's your call man." He folded his arms over his chest as he waited for instruction. They all did.
"Think of something to get them to come willingly. Threaten them if you have to."
"Threaten them?" Jamie scoffed, not being able to hide how furious he was by the suggestion.
I shrugged. "Obviously we won't do anything. But we can't risk it looking like we're kidnapping them. Get them to agree and I'll work on her."
Zach looked like he wanted to argue more but instead stayed silent as I opened the back seat to my defender. She froze from whatever it was that she was doing before I opened the door. "It's alright." I breathed and moved further into the car, forcing her to try and back away, but she couldn't get her seatbelt off.
As soon as I unclipped it, she flung her body at the other door, the tears falling again. "Haylie I'm going to untie you. We need to get you upstairs." She sobbed in response, shaking her head. "Stop." She winced when my tone got harsher, but I couldn't help it. I couldn't do this all night. "Please stop. I don't want to force you upstairs." I reached for her again, but she tried to kick at my hands. "Fuck this."
I climbed over the legs kicking at me, and gripped her arms. She screamed and sobbed louder than I had ever heard under the tape and I knew it could be heard if anyone walked by so I pressed hand over the tape. "Stop!" I yelled loud enough the door I came in through opened again but I didn't turn to who had opened it. "I don't want to hurt you. But you need to stop."
She had squeezed her eyes shut and I turned my head slightly to see Zach at the door. "The other two are out." He breathed, his eyes darting between me and Haylie.
Her breathing had slowed as she looked over my shoulder, finding her friends, unbound. "Look at them." I whispered. "They are cooperating. If you do too then I can untie you."
She seemed to consider it for a second and I took that second to pull her out of the car. She stumbled as her feet hit the floor and I reached down to pull her skirt down since it had started to ride up but she flinched away from me. "I'm trying to help." The hold on my temper was loosening as she still backed away from me.
To my surprised I was pushed out of the way by Megan who then tugged Haylie's skirt down a little. "You can't blame her for not wanting your hands anywhere near her." She spat.
Instead of responding. I pushed her out of the way again, harsher then I meant to so she fell back into Scarlett. I gripped Haylie's upper arm, not willing to waste another second out here in the open. "keep your ears out." I ordered my friends as I started to pull Haylie along without thinking of the consequences forcing her like this could cause.
As soon as I walked into my apartment I felt at ease. We were safe here. She was here and she was safe. "You guys talk in here." I said as I held Haylie at the end of the hallway towards my bedroom. "I'll take Haylie to my room."
