EDITED - Zach

When Friday hit and I knew I had music first, I couldn't help myself. I made it to school at the perfect time to get to Daniels classroom before anyone else would be there.

I wasn't planning anything. I hadn't been trying to flirt with him or get his attention when we have seen each other. It's just... It was just becoming harder. Each day, when he wouldn't let his eyes drift over to me. Especially as every night I would remember how his eyes in Cannes were always on me. No matter what, I would catch him staring at me. Then he would kiss me, as if he too wanted to freeze every moment with a kiss.

A kiss.

His lips.

Oh god, I had pictured his kiss so many times. Every time I had seen him, I missed his lips on mine.

"Hi." Daniel looked up from his desk the second I opened the door. He paused a moment before he let his mouth fall into the smile I had missed.

How was a smile so perfect?

"Good morning. How are you?" I went to reply but when he stood I couldn't help wondering if that meant he was going to walk towards me. Although, when his hand found the whiteboard pen and he turned his back to start writing on the board I wanted to slam my head into the door.

"Tired." I finally said, stupidly still standing at the door as if I could guard it from any other intruders. "I was up until midnight trying to book some open days for uni."

His back straightened underneath his pale blue shirt. He suddenly turned and gestured towards the mug on his desk. "I know you don't like hot coffee but it's there if you want it."

My eyes fell to the white mug at the offer and couldn't help my smile break out. I would take anything he offered me. It was wrong and I knew it was wrong, as I moved for the mug, but it was an offer I couldn't refuse since it came from him. I reached for the mug, the warm liquid that he had been drinking from warming my hands just as he laughed a little.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked suddenly afraid he was going to realise it was inappropriate.

"De-ja vu I guess." He said simply shaking his head. When I didn't respond, he faced me fully and leant his shoulder on the wall. His strong arms, too strong for a teacher, folding over his chest. "Do you remember when we were on our way to Go-karting?" Instinctively, my eyes shot to the door. "You told me how it's shitty when you remember little things about a person."

I paused before taking my sip. Remembering the conversation. He shrugged casually. "let's just say I get it now." He nodded more to himself than to me. But I slowly nodded in return anyway, lifting the liquid to my mouth. Forcing the horrible taste anyway just because it was his.

I couldn't stand the way he was looking at me anymore, and my eyes fell down to his bag, a flyer sticking out. "Are you racing in this?" I asked, placing the mug back down and picking the paper out of his bag again fully.

He nodded, his hands leaving his chest to fall into his pockets. "Yeah, it's tomorrow night." He paused. "Did you want to come?" I looked back up to him quicker than we both would have liked. Instead of saying anything, I just raised my eyebrows. Two offers in one morning. He just laughed. "What? We can be friends right?"

He sounded so hopeful. But I only shook my head, finally feeling at ease again as I realised it was still him. It really was still him. "I don't think so. I think any kind of relationship outside of the classroom is bad."

His lips tightened as he nodded. "You looked it up too huh?"

I frowned but couldn't stop the grin from breaking out. "What? No. I just..." I laughed without being able to stop it as his eyes lit up like they used to. "Did you google it?"
