Haylie pov

"Yeah, go Ian!" Emily yelled at her boyfriend as he got the ball. I was getting cold as we stood behind the railing in the dark night, watching the footballers play. Ollie seemed to notice and wrapped his jacket round my shoulders.

I smiled thankful. Looking at him I still wasn't able to shake the idea that him and Scarlett would have ended up together. He's so different to Dwayne but for some reason I thought they would work. When it was the 6 of us, they always seemed to get closer.

When I thought about how the 6 of us used to be I remembered Luke. I looked back to the game and realised he wasn't even here. "Where's Luke?" I asked the guys and Darren who is on the team but has an injury smirked.

"He got kicked off the team." He said.

I frowned confused. "What! Why?"

He shrugged like it was no big deal. "His grades went down. Started failing theory and practical." He explained and looked back to the game.

I looked to Matt and he looked guilty. Not like he had done anything but like he felt sorry for Luke. Which was exactly how I was feeling.

"You alright Hayls?" Emily asked as I had started to stare off into space.

"Yeah sorry." I laughed nervously. "What's the score?" I asked and Ollie sighed.

"1-3 to them."

Most of the guys we stood with groaned. "We can bring it back." I reassured while rubbing my hands together. They all looked at me with glares making me laugh. "Okay maybe not." I laughed and moved to the bench where I sat next to a few other friends. Still wrapping Ollie's jacket around myself. I pulled out my phone and saw Scarlett had sent a picture of Daniel on the grass. Mud all over him but he looked relaxed.

How he celebrates a goal...

She said and I smiled looking at the picture again.

God I miss him. I ran a hand though my hair and looked to my friends. Laughing, talking and just having fun together. Just like we all used to do. I couldn't move on until Daniel and I have closure. I can't get back to being one of these people until me and Daniel are resolved. I put my phone away and walked up to Ollie, Matt and Emily.

"Hey guys um, my dad's here to pick me up so I'm going to go." I said and gave Ollie his jacket back. "Text me the end score yeah?" I asked with a smirk and Ollie rolled his eyes.

We said goodbye and I walked away from the pitch to the bus stop. Thankfully I only had to wait ten minutes until the bus I needed showed. Then it was just a half hour bus ride to Daniels house. The family house.

The girls said the game started at 7 and it was now 8 so hopefully Daniel should be home by the time I get to the house. It was a twenty-minute walk from the bus stop. As I walked through the front gate I groaned. His defender wasn't here. The Vauxhall was but if the defender wasn't that means he's not home.

I still walked up to the front door and took a few breaths before knocking. "Haylie!" Anna smiled when she opened the door.

"Hi." I managed to say quickly before she pulled me into her arms.

"What are you doing here? God it's freezing outside." She said and pulled me into the house. "Danny's not here." She said sadly. Obviously remembering that I'm her son's ex-girlfriend, not current. "You are here to see him, right?"

I nodded making her smile. "Yeah, we kind of need to talk." I admitted and she smiled.

"Great. We miss having you around." She said and walked me into the living room where Kevin and Emma were.
