EDITED

After lunch I let Zach talk me into coming across the road to do my homework while he worked on a car. It didn't take much convincing but he didn't need to know that. I took a seat on a stool and pulled my bag onto the cold meter table to pull out my stuff, but my eyes kept drifting over.

He was wearing a pair of dark grey cargo trousers, his pockets filled with tools. His grey t-shirt covered in oil and what looked like paint as he reached over the bonnet of the car to do whatever the hell it was he was doing. "Music?" He suddenly asked and I could only nod before forcing myself to focus on the words before me.

I couldn't do this. I couldn't really start fantasying about him. If I did then everybodies accusations would be true, and they couldn't be true. It was Zach.

I jumped when the music started playing through the garage making him laugh before he went back to the car. His arms flexing with every movement. The t-shirt tight around his back that I could see his shoulder blades work. "Yo!"

I jumped again as the voice entered the room. I looked to the door to see Ben walk in. He frowned when he looked at me and then at the clock. "Shouldn't you be in school?"

I rolled my eyes, the heat from watching Zach thankfully disappearing now we weren't alone. "It's an early day, I don't have classes this afternoon."

He nodded, but his confused expression still darted between the two of us. "What are you doing here?" Zach asked, taking Ben's attention as he leant against the car and folded his arms over his chest. The tattoos over his arm screaming at me to touch them.

"I'm going into town to look for a shirt for Anna's party, thought you wanted to come."

"Aw that's so cute." I teased. "Little shopping buddies."

Ben smirked as he approached me, I tried to prepare for his attack but he, of course, was too quick and pulled me off the chair, wrapping his arm around my neck and pretending like he was about to drop me to the floor. "Come on, leave her alone." Zach laughed and Ben eventually let go off me after a forceful shove from me.

"Are you coming?" He asked while he let me catch my breath and jump back onto the stool.

I shrugged. "Not sure yet." I said honestly and he cocked his head. "I want to, I just don't know if it's appropriate."

He shrugged again. "Danny's not going to be there. And his mums the one that invited you. They all want to see you."

I smiled at the idea of them. I really did miss them all. So, I nodded. "Yeah why not. You guys are going so it's not like I'll be on my own."

"Great." Zach announced loudly before turning back to the car. "Now that's settled. No I don't want to go shopping. I did the normal man thing and ordered online."

Ben chuckled and approached him. "You know, you act so macho man, but can we please not forget which one of us played the fairy godmother in the school play."

I covered my mouth too slowly as the laugh had already escaped and Zach's glaring eyes turned to me. "We were 10." He said though I could see the muscle ticking in his jaw.

I nodded. "I'm not judging." I said still trying to hold in my laugh as Ben let out his own.

"Right, well then, I'm off. But I'll see you tonight for poker?"

Zach nodded and waved him off. I watched him cleaning a tool before his eyes drifted up to me, like he was waiting for something. I smiled and turned in my stool to face him. "So, do I get three wishes now or..."

He looked away shaking his head, but I saw the smile. "That's a genie idiot." He mumbled before bending back over the car, examining the engine. I smiled to myself but couldn't pull my eyes away from his tall body leaning over the car.
