Jillian’s POV

I want the earth to swallow me whole right now. Sobrang init ng mukha ko. Pakiramdam ko ay bigla na lamang akong hihimatayin. Good heavens, why am I not good with hiding my feelings? I mean, that could be a talent, you know. I suck at enshrouding my emotions. The more I hide them, the more they show.

Though, he said that he doesn’t have particular favorites. In his face. If he could only see his face whenever he eats those, then, he wouldn’t have to deny.

“Pareho pala kayo ng gusto ni Ate Princess mo,” Nick replied looking at me.

“I don’t love ice cream per se,” I corrected him. “It’s the cone, sir.” I grinned.

He snorted, ignoring my remark. “Pero wala naman yatang malapit na ice cream parlor dito,” he said, kneeling at the kid.

“Tama si Kuya mo. Mayroon ka pa bang ibang gusto? We can look around,” I suggested.

She mulishly shook her head. “Wala na po. I want ice cream!” she cried. Ugh, kids, really. They are so demanding!

“Pero may malapit na MCdo dito. Iyon na lang. Is sundae enough for you?” Nick suggested. He already stood up.

“That would be okay!” she beamed.

My eyebrows twitched. “Seriously? May MCdo dito? I didn’t know that.”

Proudly, he said, “Oo naman.”

“Bakit hindi ko nakita?” hamon ko. Mayabang pa akong nagpamaywang sa harap niya.

“Natutulog ka kasi kanina kaya hindi mo nakita,” he explained. Oh, actually, I just closed my eyes. I didn’t really sleep. But anyway, that reason still wouldn’t make me win this conversation.

“Whatever,” I say, rolling my eyes.

He bit his lower lip and grinned. I want to yell, “Dude, that is illegal!” But I can’t and I wouldn’t for the world!
