Chapter 32

Jillian’s POV

“Ka—kanina pa kayo nandito?” nauutal na tanong ko sa kanila. Kinakabahan ako dahil kung nagkataon na kanina pa sila dito ay patay talaga ako. Hindi ko alam kung anong mukha ang ihaharap ko sa kanilang lahat.

Japheth cleared his throat and fixed the collar of his polo. “Kasi kanina pa kayo nandito sa loob. We were just worried so we thought we should follow you,” he explained.

Paglingon ko sa mga kasama niya, I was even surprised to see the rest of the gang. Are they really here to make sure everything’s okay? I’m touched but . . .

“Please answer my question, Japh. Kanina pa ba kayo nandito?” pag-uulit ko. Napataas ang boses ko dahil sa sobrang takot ko. My heart is under a massive palpitation right now.

“Huwag kang kabahan, Jah. Sound proof ang mga CR, right?” He reminded me, followed by a smile. “Kaya kung anuman ‘yung napag-usapan niyo, paniguradong hindi namin narinig.”  

I mentally banged my head. How come I forgot that? Iyong mga CR kasi dito sa school ay talagang soundproof. Kapag kasi mayroong mga auditions especially sa Negative Zero, dito nagre-release ng kaba ang mga gustong sumali. They often shout to vent those fears.

 I sighed upon the thought of it. Stupid mouth, you asked the wrong question. What more? In front of Nick. Nakakahiya. Ang laking turn off nito. Oh, God.

“Let’s go?” asked Cyrus. Pinasadahan niya ako ng tingin at tumalikod na. Don’t you do this to me, dork. Don’t you know you are the reason behind this hyperventilation?! How dare you do that!

Sumunod na kami kay Cyrus pagkatapos ng nakakahiyang eksenang iyon.

Habang naglalakad kami, hinigit ko ang braso ni Mitch. “You’re dead!” I warned her.

She ignored my remark and shrugged. “O, I’m scared,” nang-iinis na aniya at pinulupot niya ang kaniyang kamay sa braso ni James.  

I walked past by him because of my fast moves, and when our eyes met again, I snorted. Serves you right, Mister!

Nang makalayo na ako, napaisip ako kung bakit ko ba sinisisi si Cyrus. In fact, it wasn’t actually his fault. I’m just really being such an utter fool.

Nang makarating kami sa loob ng kotse ni Japh, nawala na ang sense of weirdness ko—that’s what I thought. Dahil sa kaharutan ni Guian, natulak ako sa gitna, so I had no choice but to be beside Cyrus. Our skins touching each other is inevitable, thus; I am now under an erratic behavior.

“Teka, saan ba tayo pupunta?” tanong ni Cyrus.

“Sa Bistro na lang ninyo, Jah,” suggested Nick.

Tinignan ko siya. “Eh? Hindi naman sa amin ‘yun, kay Tita Daisy ‘yun,” pagpapaliwanag ko naman sa kaniya.
