Jillian’s POV

“I’m not yet ready.”

“Please, Jillian,” he begged.

I moved farther because I know anytime I’m going to collapse.

I am very sorry Cyrus pero kasi hindi ko pa kaya ngayon, eh. Give me time, not now. Please.

Tinalikuran ko siya at naglakad ako palayo. Dahil wala ako sa ulirat, hindi ko napansin ang babaeng nasa harapan ko. “Sorry po!” untag ko.

She giggled upon seeing me, I don’t know why. “Ikaw ‘yun, ‘di ba?” she beamed.

I stared at her as I try to remember her face but I could hardly recall. “Po?”

“Hi!” aniya pagkatapos ay hinigit niya ang kamay ko. “Ikaw ‘yung kumakanta dito, ‘di ba?”

I nodded baffling.

“Jillian!” Cyrus called out. Hinabol niya pa talaga ako. Bakit ba ang kulit niya? Can he not get it? I’m fed up with this! I want to get him out of my system. And persistently pushing it is really not helping.

Bumitaw sa pagkakahigit sa akin ang babaeng nasa tabi ko. She dazed at Cyrus. “Hindi ba siya ‘yung boyfriend mo?”

Lumapit siya kay Cyrus. “Wow! Nasakto pa talaga na pagpunta ko dito, nandito kayong dalawa. Alam niyo ba na gustong gusto ko kayong dalawa? Ngayon nga buntis ako at pakiramdam ko pinaglilihian ko kayo,” she shrieked.

I stared at him and I can see his foxed expression. “Po?”

“Puwede ba akong magrequest sa inyo? Please? Para lang sa anak ko, two weeks pa lang siya but I know she already loves the both of you just like how I do,” she said enthusiastically.

And though I’m in the state of muddiness, I asked her. “Anong request po?”

“Oh wait, I haven’t introduced myself. Sorry, I was too excited. My name’s Nadine.” She smiled on us. “Last time, I was in your school. May activity yata kayo noon, I was there because of my sister. There I saw and heard the both of you. Alam niyo ba na ‘yung song na kinanta niyo ang naging sign sa akin? Then the other day my husband asked me to marry him and I said yes! Really! I love the both of you. You’re awesome! And then I went here months ago and again, I saw the both of you singing. That song became our wedding song,” masayang kwento niya. She even hugged me. She’s too happy.

She broke the hug and she approached Cyrus. “Can you please sing for me? Please, just one song? Please? When I made up my mind to go here, I wasn’t really sure why and seeing the both of you now, I guess the question’s anwered.” Liningon niya ako. “Please?”
