Chapter 44

Jillian’s POV

What in the world just happened? He just ignored me. That jerk! Isang malaking aray sa pride ko ang ginawa niyang ‘yun. Minsan ko na nga lang siya batiin, tapos snob pa siya. Who does he think is he? Akala mo naman kinagwapo niya ang pag-iinarte niyang ‘yun. Nakakairita!

  

He could have raised his hand to gesture that he’s heard me but no, he just ran off. Can somebody slap him with a handful of good manners?

As to my wrath, I stomped my feet as I go back to the room. He ruined my day. He’s always ruining my day, anyway. I shouldn’t be surprised. That’s his living mantra.  

“Saan ka nanggaling, pardz?” Japh asked upon seeing me.

Of course, I can’t tell them where. Nakakahiya.

“Sa labas lang. Nagpahangin ako saglit,” I lied. They nodded their head. Mabuti naman at wala ng further questions. I’m not in the mood to answer some stupid questions either.

I neared them and grabbed for something to eat. I was chomping the food pacifically when Nick went on my side.

I gave him a quizzical look. “What?” I asked. Sinubo ko ang V-Cut at nginuya ito.

“Nasaan si Cyrus?” tanong niya. Halos mabuga ko ang kinakain ko sa harapan niya. Mabuti na lamang at natakpan ko ang bibig ko. Bakit naman kasi ganitong bagay ang tinatanong sa akin. Another thing, I’m not the ogre’s keeper.

Uminom ako ng tubig at hinarap ko siya. “Na-abduct na siya ng mga aliens. Naghahanap kasi sila ng mga masasamang tao na tutulong sa pagsakop nila sa Earth,” I answered boringly while looking away. I’m not in the mood right now for some chit-chats.  

“Ano pang ginagawa ni G dito?” tumatawang aniya habang tinuturo si Guian.

Agad na lumingon si Guian at ngumiwi. “Hindi masama ang ugali ko. Masyado lang talaga kayong mabait.” He winked at us.  

When someone is too good, it doesn’t really assert that you are a bad person. Someone else’s goodness doesn’t lessen yours. Each of us is different from one another.

 

You’re not a cliché. You don’t have to be. At least, that’s what I always tell myself whenever I feel down. Well . . . sometimes.

Humalakhak si Mitch habang tumatalon. “Talo ka na, G! Weak!” she mocked G. She even stuck her tongue out to annoy him even more. Tss. Kid.

How can G win? Hindi naman kasi siya nagpo-focus sa ginagawa niya. And this woman is taking advantage. Concentration pa naman ang isa sa mga pinaka-kailangan dito sa paglalaro ng archery.

G ruffled his hair in frustration. “Kinakausap kasi ako ni Nick, eh. Ayan tuloy, talo.”
