Nyx was self-bound to the library. Running her fingers over the different textures of spines along the bookshelves, searching high and low to find the most interesting of novels Asgard had to offer.

Watching as the sun dimmed to a dark night sky, Nyx found herself staring off into the small freckles of light in the purple sky. Nyx found herself craving adventure, wanting to go out in a spaceship and just travel around all the galaxies, just to say she's seen them and experience what it's like being so far away from home.

But until she was of age, Nyx was to live through her books. Then once the time drew midnight, she was to sneak out of her bedroom and out to the library, searching for a way to keep her imagination fed.

Once it did, she was casting a purple glow around her body to contain the hurried footsteps that would've echoed in the palace if she had not silenced them.

Once at the library doors, the spell was dropped, and the sound of nothing made Nyx's eyes grow brighter by the second. Curious as to what the palace was like with such silent themes. But the guards would be on high alert during the night, so she stuck to her original plan and entered through the large double doors that opened up to a dimly lit room, reaching several feet in the air, casting bookshelves to tower over the small dots of people that walk around them.

Nyx inhaled deeply, creating a small sound of tightly fitted air in the empty library as she took in the antique smell the books gave off. There was something magnetic about the smell and Nyx wished to contain whatever caused the smell in a bottle, so she could take it with her wherever she wished to be.

But instead of filling her head with possibilities, Nyx was shattered like a mirror when a small noise was heard from behind the bookshelf in front of her. A book was slid from its place in the self, creating a suddenly vacant slot within the line of books, directly at eye level with her.

Nyx felt for a vibe, and only caught a shallow feeling of curiosity. But not her own. No, the feeling came from within someone. Then suddenly Nyx's alert was lowered when she felt she was in no danger. But there was something eerily stomach churning in the feeling this person gave to her.

She narrowed her eyes as she approached the spot the book had fallen and only then did a green covered book fall at her feet, causing Nyx to jump back slightly in surprise.

Nyx rolled her eyes and giggled. Without saying a word. Nyx knew what she was searching for now. Her gaze ran along the shelf the books were falling from and only then did she see a black spine that barley stood out to her, accented with green stripes and golden writing

She approached the single book and smiled. She ripped it out of its place, squeezing hard against the soft spot between the spine and its cover. Then just before the book landed on the floor, a loud sound came from within the book. It was as if a gust of wind had broken out of the book. Only then was a cry of pain released into the air.

But in a flash, Nyx blinked and there was no book lain on the ground, only a loud thump from the object who transformed into the God of Mischief.

"Sneaky little sod" Nyx sneered, turning away from the crumpled boy as if his presence was nothing but a mere extension to her adventure.

"That hurt!" Loki growled. Nyx marched away from Loki in search for a book to investigate.

"What are you doing in the library anyways? You're suppose to be in bed like father told you" Loki accused as he limped behind Nyx, attempting to follow her through the maze she called a library.

"Look who's talking" Nyx continued to walk the rows of books as her smaller companion created a beeline towards her.

"But I can't sleep" he whined. Then Nyx turned to meet his attentive gaze that was exactly eye level from hers even though he was 3 human years younger than Nyx (Ten in Asgardian years. I do actually know some math.)
