The Biological Effect

Happy Valentine's Day. I'm so fucking depressed and I am sat in my brothers empty living room watching To All The Boys Ps. I Still Love You while he and his fiancé are cuddling in their room. I hope you enjoy. 

He offered to help Nyx to her feet, but even profound love didn't change their playful behavior. She pushed his hand away and began walking beside Loki as they descended down the stairs. The pair ended up at the ground floor and even with urgent matters nagging at the back of Loki's mind, he couldn't let her go unless she was completely comfortable on the ground.

"I will see you later. Lovely to see you, Loki" she smiled up at him in front of Zillah and said her goodbyes as if nothing had happened the night before.

"Why are you glowing, you were on the brink of death about fifteen hours ago" Zillah called out accusingly before Nyx could reach her. Loki had begun the race to the forest in fear his guards were already being taken down. Nyx stopped beside Zillah who was elegant in carrying the weight of her silver armor, insisting the grey complemented the gold in her eyes.

"I feel like I still am" she joked, pretending to be in pain. "I wanted to see you to make me look more presentable but I hadn't realized how late I slept in" then there was a bubble of fear at the mention of the night before, still afraid someone would assume what she did or didn't do with Loki.

"You don't need my help, you are literally radiant as ever. What did the doctor give you?" Zillah giggled, throwing her long brunette braids over her shoulder.

"I am not" Nyx grew self-conscious, she didn't know if she was being overly numb towards Loki or if she wasn't acting ill enough. But even she had to admit Loki had some effect on her.

"You most certainly are. Your cheeks are rosy, your eyes a glimmering blue, your skin is in-".

"Enough. When is your shift over?" Nyx questioned.

"The peak of high noon" Zillah responded easily.

"I shall meet you at your quarters by then" Nyx instructed, walking back to the interior of her home. She felt overly comfortable and odd in the sense she was allowed to be in such a state. Trying to be wounded was more luxurious than she thought. She had forgotten about her earlier worries about being seen as a slut and smiled back at the guards around her, but then she paused.

I wish to punish you for what you've done.

She felt ill now, no longer having to fake it. She turned and darted for the entrance. She flew past all the armored men, making sure none of them saw her, and through the narrow streets of her community. No one outside saw her but Zillah had given her the most curious of looks when she saw her bolt towards the BiFrost.

Nyx ran the length of the Rainbow Bridge with fear coursing through her veins. She was dreadfully near passing out by the time she reached Heimdall, she could hardly ask any physical questions so she resorted to asking them mentally.

What have you seen?

Heimdall only stared past the struggling princess and into the distance, looking unfazed towards anything, like that wasn't his voice she heard moments before.

What, have you seen, Heimdall?!

Heimdall was taken back from the desperation in Nyx's mere thought. He hadn't responded but only stared at her with disappointment. "Your thoughts are a powerful disadvantage. You can't let them get to you. The mind will play games on those who can bare them, you must never let them control your emotions though" Heimdall spoke blandly, but Nyx could sense the urgency in them.

"What. Have. You seen, Heimdall?" Nyx repeated herself, now aloud.

"Only your clouded emotions getting in the way of your clear, intelligent mind" Heimdall was now staring directly into her eyes, the gold of them piercing holes into the backs of Nyx's. "This isn't about what I've seen, its what I haven't seen".
