Nyx prepared herself for whatever mess Heimdall was about to inform them about. As Nyx and her brother approached the BiFrost that was stunningly rebuilt after the day she lost Loki, Heimdall appeared slightly worried.
"I wish I could say that worrisome look on your face comes as a shock to me, but alas, what has our- Loki done thus far?" Thor stumbled, his gaze going to Nyx as he corrected himself. She felt a fizzle of heat bubble within her belly like she could not have been more embarrassed. However, being the Goddess of Desire, she hardly ever felt the feeling so in retrospect, feeling it less often meant she felt most intensely. That was how most things worked at least.
"He's been moving quite a lot recently. I'm glad you've decided to leave today, he's just gotten himself into a whole lot of trouble with the Midgardian government. He's just killed a man and I see a lot of havoc from here." Heimdall winced, watching as a menacing blue glow cascaded over the hundreds of heads that bow down to the ground before him as if he were Loki at that moment.
"Wait!" Nyx piped up, her eyes scanning Asgard's keeper for any trace of an answer. "You said he's killed a man? Why would he do that? He wouldn't do something like that unless he was provoked or threatened." she warned, but it was obvious no one was going to take her seriously. Heimdall saw all, he would always see all, and he knew about her and Loki. Thor too knew about her relations with him and knowing that they both oversaw her consolation.
"Over two hundred in the past two days actually, Princess."
"I know you see Loki unlike any of us will, but you must know, deep down you must know he isn't as innocent as you want him to be. He has malicious tendencies and until we take him in and question his actions, we can't be certain-" Thor was interrupted.
"And what will Odin do when he does come home?" Nyx turned to her brother now, her hand unconsciously on the hilt of her sword as she grew defensive. She didn't realize when she said it, but the meaning of home hit Thor a little harder than he expected and she saw it.
"I'm sure we can both imagine," he said solemnly, knowing what was right but feeling like it was the worst sentence to give to someone like Loki.
"So how will questioning him under Odin's gaze make any of this any different? He won't listen to him, he never will. He hasn't before, why would he now?" she hardened her expression to one of discern.
"Nyx," Thor complained with obvious irritation. "I know you have a teeming amount of displeasure towards Father but you can't keep using him as an excuse for your feel-"
"Don't you dare say my feelings for our brother is clouding my judgment." she swallowed hard on the word that connected the three of them. She never called him her brother before. She called Thor her brother out of adoration, but she never called Loki her brother. And now using the word as a weapon against herself made her bones rattle and shake with self-torment.
She earned a distraught expression in return. But for what she thought she would get from him was scorn or even a mean resentment, she earned the opposite. She didn't realize her lip had curled inward and her gaze cast down on him like she swallowed the most putrid liquid in the galaxy.
"He isn't your kin. He's always been more than that. You don't have to keep telling yourself otherwise." Thor got quieter and suddenly it felt odd talking about something she was so afraid to say out loud and admit to be saying it in front of Asgard's GateKeeper. But to her luck, he seemed preoccupied with a vision to have been eavesdropping. "But Odin will seek a fit consequence and if we keep arguing over this, he'll have wrecked half of Manhattan and he'll have enough debt to be cast out so Heimdall," he called over quickly.
