"Together at last. Without either aware of how misleading the plan was, they both jumped. Both so desperately to be with the other, Ragnor and Davina only saw the other coming at them, so close to being held for the first time. None of the realities of the universe mattered, not the fact that either deeply in love teenager were floating across the galaxy with no way of getting to safety, or the matter that their oxygen was getting lower by the minute, or even the mere fact that they just risked their lives, their safety, their families, just to be with one another.
"On the brink of death, Davina grasped for the young man colliding into her body. Barley able to breathe, not because the oxygen on her back was running low, but because Ragnor's clothed touch sent shivers down her spine and the feeling of desire to be with him only made his touch more electrifying.
"Ragnor could not bare to look away from the wondrous, yearning look within Davina's studious gaze. He craved to be closer to her despite clinging to her for dear life. He watched as her lips fell in pure fervor, pressing her helmet against his as if to plea to rest her forehead against his own. Ragnor fell into comfort at the sight and only then did he notice the reality of it all
"They were drinking in the stifled air around them as their tanks ran empty, but nevertheless clinging to one another as their supply of air, unlike their love, disappeared. Together, their hands shook as they traced every dip in each others bodies to their memory, their eyes produced tears as the last thing they were to see were the drowsy look of desire in the others eyes, and their hearts last beat struck one of only love. Love that made all their sacrifices worth the travesty." Nyx spoke with such richness and fondness for the book.
Loki's head was pressed against the back of hers as they pressed their backs to one another, sitting in the middle of the opened corner where a large window was placed, shining a single bright light of moonlight through the glass, casting an eery white glow across the god and goddess as they read.
Nyx sighed once the last sentence was hung in the air by her heeded voice, running a finger along the dimpled paper, tracing a single line across the few lines of ink that were placed on the page with care.
Either teenager remained silent, stunned with the final words of the golden novel. Only now Loki's eyes were wide open, darting back and fourth across the bookshelf in front of him as he replayed his sisters last words.
"Do not tell me" he paused for dramatic value. "that is the end of this ridiculous novel." Nyx could not see Loki's face but she could tell he was growing impatient by the second. Nyx exhaled through her nose in amusement, listening to Loki's uneven breathes.
"For the first time ever, you're correct." Nyx giggled, still tracing the curves of the pages with the tip of her finger.
Loki pulled away from Nyx, getting to his feet in a partially joking outrage.
"Whats that suppose to mean?" his face contorted into a snarl, Loki's eyebrows furrowed deeply, his nose was scrunched up and his eyes glowed with disgust. Nyx had to admit he a was good repulsive liar.
"It means," she spun, pulling her knees to her chest so she was now facing her companion whilst still remaining on the ground.
"You're right." Nyx giggled, briefly looking down to the book in her hands and softly closing it as if it were made of glass and would shatter if she closed it with force.
"No, no, no. Before that." he smirked in amusement as both pair played along to the game they were playing ever so diligently.
"Why... do you remember that brilliant idea of yours where you stuck both Thor and myself in Jotunheim? We're lucky Heimdall was on high alert once you showed your face or else you would be an only child." Nyx reminisced on the memory, no matter how scary, she cherished her time with both her older brother and Loki.
"Yeah well that was a failed attempt." he spoke lowly with a subtle eye roll, making his way to the other side of the library, filing through the variety of books Asgard had for display.
Nyx smirked at the back of Loki's head, imagining how amused he must have been. She then lowered her head and stared at the cover of the book in her hands, turning it over and over again in the search for some kind of emblem to mark the book. But there was no sign of anything but gold.
"Why do you think this book is unnamed?" Nyx wonder, still staring closely at the fabric cover of gold. She turned it over and over like a stone, searching for a name, or a signature, but overtime there was nothing there.
Loki turned in interest, disregarding the book he was about to slip from the shelf but turned to watch his counterpart instead. He watched as Nyx stood in the middle of the room in what seemed like a trance, looking deeply at the book that started their adventure.
He had to admit the look of concentration on her face was intriguing. The way her eyes darted back in forth, allowing a sort of imagery of cogs spinning within her cranium, how delicate she was with the book as she turned it over and over in her palm, and the way her breathing was at a slow, soaking in the possible information she learned about the book.
"I do not know..." Loki felt for the unnamed and mistreated book in Nyx's hands. He thought everything deserved a name, it gave everything a purpose once it was named, marked, and treated well. But the contradicting novel of gold held none of it, yet held so much meaning to him he could not describe how relatable the story was to him, how beautifully depressing the novel was written. He was addicted to the way the words rolled off Nyx's tongue and into a small chest within his heart.
"But surely someone must have loved this book before. A long time ago... I can imagine the author writing with great despair. Both yearning to be in love but trapped within the desolate walls of his own heart." there was accents of forlorn in her words as she wondered about the books past, wondering if it ever got the recognition it deserved. If the writer got the recognition they deserved.
"Well someone does now." Loki tried to lift Nyx's spirits before walking over to her and gently slipping the book from her hands and into his. Loki glued his eyes to the golden cover only to be ripped away when peering up through his darkened eyelashes to see the wondrous look in Nyx's eyes. Then feeling suddenly overwhelming, he tore away from the blisteringly blue gaze across from him and teleported to the top of the bookcase.
"Here shall lie our secret adventure" Loki smiled encouragingly down at Nyx as he lowered himself back to the ground.
"Don't make this a funeral" Nyx rolled her eyes with a snort of relief that she no longer had to stare at the mysteries of the book.
Loki smiled approvingly before wishing her goodnight and hurrying off to bed before their first trip to Earth in the morning.
