Chapter Twenty-three

"What?!"

"I'm sorry but there is no other room I can offer you right now, Miss Klein.."

Ilang segundo siyang nakatitig lamang dito bago patuyang nagsalita.

"Sa laki ng mansyon na 'to, wala ka ng kwartong maibibigay sa akin? Pinapatawa mo ba ako?" Dire-diretsong tagalog niya. Ni hindi na inisip kung nakakaintindi ba ang butler na kausap o hindi.

Huminga siya ng malalim. Pinakalma ang sarili.

"What I'm trying to say is—"

"I perfectly understand what you're trying to say, Miss Klein." Ang kalmadong sagot ng butler sa kanya. "But I'm truly sorry. There really is no other room for you but the one I gave you."

She pursed her lips in irritation. Hindi niya talaga maintindihan ang sinusubukan nitong ipaintindi sa kanya!

"Are you really trying to piss me off?" Ang seryosong tanong niya dito na hindi man lang ikinatinag ng lalaki.

"No, Miss Klein." He said with a blank face.

He said the words like how he's fucking boss would have said it and it made her already boiling blood boil to the highest fahrenheit!

Malapit na siyang sumabog pero napigilan iyon ng malalakas na yabag mula sa kanyang likuran.

"Good morning your—"

"What is she doing in that room, David?" The familiar low baritone voice cut him off.

"Apologies your grace but your grandfather gave me a strict order to let Miss Klein have that room during her stay here."

Katahimikan. At kahit hindi pa siya lumingon, alam na niyang hindi nagustuhan ng amo nito ang sinabi.

"And you agreed." Turan ni kamahalan sa mapanganib na tono.

His butler started shifting on his feet. "Your grace.." He started nervously.

And just by the way he looked, she must say kamahalan is probably glaring at him with cold blooded murder!

"I want her out of that room, David." Ang mariing utos ni kamahalan na tila ba ang tinutukoy nito, which is siya ay wala sa harapan nito.

"But..."

"But? Do we have a problem with that?"

He sounded so pissed!

"Let me remind you that you work for me. Not for my grandfather, but for me. I will let this slide only once. But the next time you follow an order that I did not approved of...?"

Sinadya nitong bitinin ang mga salita. Truth be told, kahit hindi na nito tapusin. The danger and warning was already there behind those words!

"Do what I said and give her another room!"

Iyon lang bago niya ulit narinig ang mga yabag nito papalayo.

Isang mabigat na buntong hininga ang pinakawalan ni David pagkatapos.

"I'm dead." He muttered in vain.

Tumaas ang isang kilay niya sa sinabi nito. "Don't exaggerate. Just do what his highness had said and we'll all be fine." Wika niya na pinasigla pa ang boses.

"You don't understand.." Down na down na wika nito.

She frowned. "Ano namang hindi ko naiintindihan doon? Isa pa, why did those rooms have to share a bathroom anyway? Ang laki laki nitong mansyon ng amo mo pero isang banyo lang hindi pa niya nalaanan ng space? Tsk!"
