Chapter Forty nine

Kanina pa natapos ang video pero nanatili pa rin siyang nakatingin sa screen ng cellphone ni River. Tahimik. Ang tanging indikasyon lang ng nararamdaman niyang galit ngayon ay ang kuyom na kuyom niyang kamao.

Even when Magnus sighed and tried to talk some reason in her anger filled mind, nanatili pa ding blanko ang ekpresyon ng mukha niya.

"Cece... whatever you're thinking, don't. Let's get on with our plan first and then—"

Hindi na niya pinatapos pa si Magnus. Marahas siyang tumalikod at naglakad palayo. Narinig pa niya ang mahinang mura nito bago siya tuluyang makalabas ng living room.

Sinundan ng tingin ni Derrick ang dalaga palabas ng living room. Sa paglipas ng bawat segundo, mas lalong nagugulo ang utak niya sa mga nangyayari.

"Shit!"

Napatingin siya kay Magnus. Nasa mukha nito ang pagkabalisa. He looked like he just witnessed hell broke loose.

"What is hapenning?"

Tinitigan siya nito. Isang marahas na buntong hininga ang pinakawalan nito pagkatapos.

"For the next few hours, Cece will make stupid decisions so let's brace ourselves." Si River and sumagot na mas lalong ikinakunot ng noo niya. He looked at Magnus for some sort of an explanation.

"Cece will surely come after that man. With or without us and with or without my well calculated plan." Magnus cleared.

Natigilan siya. "She wouldn't be that stupid. I know that prisoner is important to her but surely she wouldn't do anything that stupid!" Ang matatag niyang turan.

Both guys looked at him as if what he just said is the one that is entirely stupid.

"You don't know how deep the relationship of those two are, your grace." Si River ang nagsalita. "You don't have any idea how protective those two are with each other. At iyon ang ikinababahala namin ngayon."

"River is right, mas matatag pa sa bato ang turingan ng dalawang iyon sa isa't isa. Chase is everything to Cece. He's her only family in those years of service at the hand of a terrorist leader back when they were just kids in Israel. You threaten Chase and you'll have your head served in a silver platter. You can count on that."

"And in our case, that will be that russian bastard's head on a silver platter."

"Or her head could be the one served in a silver platter if she won't think this through first!" He hissed.

"Nah. Cece might be a woman but I assure you, she's one hell of a woman. She was afterall, a trained assasin at the age of ten. A terrorists leader's prized assasin for that matter."

"We are not worried about Cece's skills when it comes to killing or fighting, your grace.. What we are worried though is the fact that our friend is willing to die if it means saving that man. That is how important he is to her."

Naikuyom niya ang dalawang kamao sa narinig. Something unpleasant stirred inside of him. He doesn't know where this strange emotion is coming from but he doesn't like it one bit.

Marahas siyang tumayo at saka naglakad papunta sa direksyon na dinaanan ng dalaga kanina. She could think of going there and killing that bloody bastard all she wants but not as long as he's here he won't let her.

Sa bawat paghakbang niya, nasa video na iyon ang buong isip at konsentrasyon niya. That bastard has Chase. He's alone there and hurt.

Kakaibang takot ang biglang bumalot sa buong pagkatao niya na ikinatigil niya sa paglalakad. Napapikit siya ng mariin. Agad dumagsa sa kanya ang mga alaala. She remember the times wherein there was no one there for her and Chase but each other. They were each other's strenght..
