<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">As I hopped off the school bus and walked it inside them annoying blue gates for the very last time in my life, I felt incredible. Leaving high school, no more homework, sleeping in. Ahh, awesome shit right there. The bell went for first period and I headed over to the school hall. Eventually, I caught up with Maddie and Beth who minded an extra empty seat for myself. I went over and sat down.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Excited?” Beth asked.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Very.” I replied.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

Students started to sit at their seats and the practise run through of the graduation assembly started. After the boring hour and the brief discussion on what would happen at one point was over, the whole year headed off to change into their gowns. Yes, them ugly navy blue gowns that year after year, some random student would put on and wear for a whole fucking day. After changing and re-applying my make up, everyone was ordered back into their seats as the assembly was drawn to an open and everyone’s family and friends (including the parents of moi) where at.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

The graduation assembly was ridiculously boring. I know I should’ve paid attention but it was fucking ridiculous. All you could hear was teachers rat on about how small we were when we arrived at 12, how smart we all are and how shit hard the big wide scary world was. Besides that and the many claps we had to make, it was time for the big grace from one side of the stage to the principal, grabbing that piece of paper, moving that tassel from one side of your face to the other and walking over to the opposite side. I was lined up about 3 bodies behind Shaun who seemed all cool about the whole thing. I shuffled a little bit forward and tapped on his shoulder.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Nervous?” I whispered in his ear. He turned around and threw a crooked smile.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Never nervous.” he kissed me before being called up on stage.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Shaun Diviney.” Mr Todoroski called from the middle of the stage.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

He walked up the steps as the crowd gave him an applause.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

He exchanged hand shakes, took his reward and moved his tassel before moving on. Eventually, it was my turn.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Kell Edwards.”</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

Fuck. My. Life. Don’t. You. Fucking. Fall. I thought to myself in complete panic.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

I headed up the stairs, pulling a smile across my face. I walked over to the principal to claim my useless graduation award.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Congratulations Miss Edwards.” he said to me.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Thank you very much.” I replied and shook his hand, taking the prize with my remaining free hand.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

I took a step forward and moved that darn bundle of material to the other side of my face and walked down the stairs as the crowd applauded some more. After sitting back at my seat and waiting for the other graduates to do that same thing, it was time to head on home. Early days was too awesome for anyone’s liking. I met up with my parents and as we attempted to exit, we occasionally bumped into a teacher who would keep us standing there for a few awkward minutes before wishing my life some luck.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“You did great honey.” mum said to me and gave me a hug as we stood by the double doors.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“You looked beautiful.” dad chimed in and he kissed my forehead.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Thank you both.” I said to them.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“We’ll wait for you in the car. Take as much time as you need.” mum said as she waved to someone behind me.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

I turned around to see Jumpnow standing there waiting for me. I ran up to him and gave him a massive hug.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“We’ve graduated!” I shouted as he spun me in a circle.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“I know. And now school is over. Horah!” he replied and he set me down.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

I looked down and took a glance at what both of us were wearing.</pre>

<pre style="line-height: 17px; white-space: normal; color: #2a2a2a; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;">

“Let’s go change.” I suggested. He nodded and we headed out of the busy hall.</pre>
