Remi's POV

Harry and I are walking back to the common room after our latest lesson with my dad. Who had told us about the dementors kiss and Harry said Sirius deserved it. I don't agree, I think Sirius should just go back to prison.

We still don't have our brooms back and it's nearly time for the Gryffindor's match against Ravenclaw. We're halfway up the stairs when we run into my godmother (Professor McGonagall). She tells us to watch where we're going and we apologize. Guess I wasn't the only one in my little world.

"I've just been looking for you both in the Gryffindor common room. Well, here they are, we've done everything we could think of, and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them at all. You both have got a very good friend somewhere, Potter and Remi" she tells us smiling. Holding out our firebolts.

"We can have them back?" Harry asks.

"Seriously?" I add as I take mine holding it close.

"Seriously" she says smiling at us. "I daresay you'll need to get the feel of it before Saturday's match, won't you? And Potter -- do try and win, won't you? Or we'll be out of the running for the eighth year in a row, as Professor Snape was kind enough to remind me only last night" she tells him.

"Don't worry, we'll both get the hang of them encase I have to take over for Harry" I assure her as Harry takes his broom. She smiles and starts to leave, but we call her back. "Thank you, Professor McGonagall" I say with Harry and she nods her head before leaving.

Ron and Ginny meet us as soon as we reached the corridor to our common room. "She gave it to you? Excellent! Listen, can I still have a go on it? Tomorrow?" Ron asks Harry.

"Can I try yours Remi?" Ginny asks me.

"Of course you can, but after me of course" I tell her. We all head for the common room and Harry convinces Ron to make up with Hermione. When we reach the portrait hole we see Neville talking with Sir Cadogan. Who had taken over in place of The Fat Lady for the time being.

"I wrote them down!" Neville exclaims looking close to tears. "But I must of dropped them somewhere" he explains.

"A likely tale!" Sir Cadogan roars and then spots us. "Good even, my fine young yeomen and maidens! Come clap this loon in irons. He is trying to force entry to the chambers within" he tells us.

"Oh shut up" Ron tells him.

"I've lost the passwords!" Neville tells us. "I made him tell me what passwords he was going to use this week, because he keeps changing them. And now I don't know what I've done with them" he explains.

"That's a little irresponsible Neville" I tell.

"I know, but it was an accident" he tells me.

"Oddsbodkins" Harry tells Sir Cadogan the current password. Who looked extremely disappointed and reluctantly swung forward to let them into the common room. There was a sudden, excited murmur as every head turned. The next moment, Harry and I are surrounded by people exclaiming over our Firebolts.

"Where'd you get them Harry, Remi?" Seamus asks.

"Will you let me have ago?" Dean and Lee ask us.

"Have you ridden it yet?" the chasers ask me.

"Ravenclaw'll have no chance, they're all on Cleansweep Sevens!" the twins shout.

"Can I just hold it Harry?" Seamus asks. So Harry and I allowed our brooms to be passed around for the next ten minutes. They were both admired from every angle until they were returned to us. Only I was given Harry's and laugh as we swap them back. The crowd dispersed and we spotted Hermione.

"We got them back" Harry says happily as I sit down beside her.

"See, Hermione? There wasn't anything wrong with them" Ron tells her.

"But there could of been" she tells him.

"At least now we know they're safe" I assure them.

"Yeah, I suppose so" Harry mumbles.

"We should get these upstairs" I tell him and he nods his head in agreement.

"I'll take it!" Ron and Ginny shout. I giggle handing mine to Ginny. As Ron explained he had to give Scabbers his rat tonic anyway. I look at all the books around Hermione and frown.

"How are you getting through all this stuff?" I ask her confused.

"You know, working hard" she says absentmindedly. I look at her with Harry and she looks more tired then my dad.

"Why don't you just drop a couple of subjects?" Harry asks her.

"I couldn't do that!" she exclaims.

"Arithmancy looks terrible" he states looking at her number chart. I have to agree with Harry there. The number chart looks very confusing.

"Oh no, it's wonderful!" she tells us smiling. "It's my favourite subject, it's..." she is cut off by a yell from the boys dormitories. The whole common room fell silent, staring, petrified, at the entrance. Harry wraps an arm around me as hurried footsteps, growing louder and louder -- and then Ron came leaping into view, dragging with him a bed-sheet.

"Look!" he shouts shoving the bed-sheet into Hermione's face.

"Ron, what..." she starts to say confused.

"Scabbers! Look Scabbers!" he shouts. Hermione was leaning away from Ron, looking utterly bewildered. Harry and I looked down at the sheet Ron is holding. There was something red on it. "Blood!" he exclaims. "HE'S GONE! AND YOU KNOW WHAT WAS ON THE FLOOR?" he demands.

"N-no" Hermione says trembling. Ron threw something down onto Hermione's rune translation. Hermione and Harry leaned forward. Lying on top of the weird, spiky shapes were several long, ginger cat hairs.
