How it happened.

Forever

Hiccups POV.
My mother walked into my house and I was sat crying in my father's chair, she saw me and I wiped the tears away from my eyes and cheeks.
"Hiccup? Somethings wrong with Astrid... and you."
"It's nothing I'm fine." I said teary eyed.
"Hiccup, I'm your mother, I know when your not just fine."
"We... um... we had a a-another fight"
"Oh baby, I'm sorry."
She walked over to me and brought a chair over to sit next to me.
"What happened?"
"I asked her why she... um why she left and she said Heather, I knew that so I told her that we agreed she wouldn't go and risk her life for someone who's dead. She started crying so I apologised and then she said that I risked every life on Berk for... for dad."
I cried and buried my head in my hands and sunk into dad's chair.
"I miss him, mom, i miss him." I cried.
She hugged me tight.
"I know son, so do I."
"I'm sure she didn't mean it, she just had a traumatic experience." She said.
I sat in her arms and cried into her, letting all my emotions out. It was as if they were flowing out of me and flooding the room, creating a sad atmosphere around me, then my body absorbed them again and the tears stopped.
"I'm gonna go and see her." I declared.
"Do you want me to go with you?"
"No... no, I'll be okay. "
I left and headed over to Gothi's hut, at arrival I hesitated to open the door. Almost giving up, I opened the door and shut it behind me. Astrid turned around and saw me, her eyes began to fill with tears as she stood up. She ran to me and spoke.
"I'm so sorry, Hiccup."
She grabbed my waist and cried into my chest.
"I'm sorry too, you should be in bed, you need to rest."
"No, I'm fine, I promise."
"Promise me, that you'll never leave again... You have to promise me, Astrid Hofferson."
"I promise."
I squeezed her tight and kissed her forehead.

1 YEAR LATER
NO POV.
It was finally time. The day had come. The whole of berk had been awaiting this day, they were all getting ready for the ceremony. The snowy hills of new berk set the scene for the occasion. All was calm excitement and a little bit of nervousness too. But that was to be expected. Valka was heading over to Astrid and Hiccup's house, to get Hiccup out, as they were doing things traditionally. Valka knocked on the door and Astrid opened it with a huge grin.
"Good morning." Valka said.
Astrid let valls in and shut the door.
"How do you feel."
"I-I don't know." She laughed.
Hiccup came down the stairs.
"Come on, Hiccup, out!" Valka said excitedly.
Hiccup gave Astrid a kiss and Valka a hug before being ushered out the door by his mother.
Astrid and Valka went upstairs to get Astrid ready for her wedding. Astrid's hair was in a messy bun and she was wearing baggy house clothes. Valka waited outside the bedroom whilst Astrid slipped on her dress. As Astrid opened the door, tears ran down Valka's face.
"Val, don't cry."
Astrid hugged her soon to be mother-in-law and then they carried on getting Astrid ready. Valka placed a white fluffy cloak and pinned it to her shoulders using metal plates that had a Deadly Nadder symbol on them. Astrid sat down on the bed and Valka and undid Astrid's bun, then brushed out her long, blonde hair. Her hair was wavy and beautiful, and Valka finished everything off with a pink flower crown on her head. Valka handed Astrid a boque of pink flowers.
"Your ready." Valka said.
"Thank you."

Astrid stood up and they both left the house and walked up to the great hall, where everyone was waiting in silence. Valka headed up to stand next to Gobber, they gave each other a quick look and a smile before looking ahead at Hiccup. Everyone took their place outside the hall. Infront of everyone stood a tall statue of Stoick, apart of the statue was a piece of concrete Stoick was stood on. It had an engraved picture of a young Hiccup and Toothless. The gang were stood right at the front waiting for Astrid to come. Everyone's eyes were on Hiccup, his head turned and so did everyone else's. Astrid walked calmly and slowly towards Hiccup and Gothi. She smiled at everyone she looked at and they returned the smile. Astrid got to the front and handed Gobber her flowers before walking up the steps.

Hiccup was stood waiting and her offered her his hands. She took his hands and smiled wide, so did he. They looked into each other's eyes before looking at Gothi wrap the ceremonial cloth around their hands, that would join them in matrimony.    Gobber was crying and he wiped his tears away with his wooden fist, making some petals fall off the boque. Once the cloth was fully wrapped around their hands, they kissed and Hiccup removed his hand from the cloth to cup Astrid's cheek.

The entire of Berk erupted in huge cheers as the newly wed couple looked out to the crowd. Gobber three his hands in the air, which in result made his prosthetic hand fly off with the flowers. Eret caught the wooden fist and looked shocked as it was holding flowers. Snotlout was crying and Tuffnut pulled him in to cry into his 'full thick beard', which was really his long hair plaited under his chin. Then the pair looked over to see Fishlegs crying, and turning to hug Ruffnut. Ruff wasn't to impressed with the whole wedding scene, but she enjoyed the hug. Everyone cleared and everything calmed. Hiccup and Astrid went down to the snowy cliff and stood hand in hand. The others joined as Astrid turned to see them,  Hiccup placed his arm over her shoulder and they rested their heads on each others.
They both looked out to the blue, cloudy sky, together. Forever.
