Hiccups POV.
I walked into the bedroom and saw Astrid sat in the corner furthest from the window, and was hugging her knees. She seemed to be in her own world, I walked slowly and over and crouched down beside her, I reached out and touched her knee. She jumped and looked at me with tears in her eyes, my hand flew off her.
"Astrid? What's wrong?"
"T-They're watching...d-don't you see?" She shivered with fear.
I looked at the curtained window and back to Astrid, worry filled my body from the tip of my toe to the very highest hair. I again reached out for her and she crawled into my chest and wrapped her weak arms around my torso and I was slightly taken back, but I bent my arms around her and returned the hug. I sat down in the same position so I was comfortable.
"Astrid, please, please believe me... nothing can get you... I will never let anything happen to you. Anything." I whispered.
"I believe you, but I can't help being... terrified."
"I know, I'll protect you. Always."
I kissed her head before she sat up, looking straight at my eyes she kissed my cheek and put her head on my shoulder and kept her arms around my stomach. Astrid began to get up, holding my hand as she did, her legs moved forward and took her body with her. She got arms length away, but I pulled her back.
"Woah!" She squealed.
She fell back into lap sideways and laughed, I smiled wide her bright blue eyes caught my attention immediately, a cluster of hair covered one eye. I raised my hand and brushed the hair away with the back of my fingers, and I tucked it behind her ear.
Her laugh began to slow and i kissed her, we pulled away and she smiled at me, I did the same. We both got up and went down stairs, I walked to over to the kitchen to do breakfast, but got an idea.
"Hey, How about we have a picnic with the guys by the waterfall? And just have a good time, totally relaxed." I asked.
"Totally relaxed." She agreed.
We head out to let them know what time, where and to bring there favourite food. They all agreed with the idea and we head back home to pack the food. I packed, soup, sandwiches, turkey legs, fish and a few more bits. We were ready to leave, but as I reached for the handle to the door she said to wait and ran upstairs to get something. After her return I opened the door and she happily skipped out and I followed. We headed to the waterfall and the gang joined along the way, we talked on the walk there and found a nice shaded tree to sit under. We unpacked the food on the large blanket and began eating we talked and laughed, sitting under the beautiful sun, but being protected by leaves. Astrid pulled something out of her bag and waited for everyone's conversations to finish.
"So, I made these a while ago, well about a week after the dragons... um, yeah I wanted us all to have something that would remind us of each other and our dragons. Something that we can look at and always know we have each other. Forever and always."
She handed each of us homemade medal pins, the wool was braided and different colours and the main part that hung from the wool consisted of each of our dragons scales. I received mine and smiled at her and put it on, so did everyone else.
"Thank you." Everyone said.
She nodded and pulled something else out of her bag, this time it was a book and she began drawing every so often looking up... she was drawing us. The pencil touched the paper and swiped across it effortlessly, leaving a grey trail in its path. I smiled at every movement she made and looked over at the drawing. I looked around the circle... happy. Happy.
