In the beginning of senior year, Peter and I always wanted to have a class together. No matter what the subject was, we just wanted a class together. Sadly that didn't happen. After 5 years of being gone, we were surrounded by new people and I was completely shocked when my friends appeared. My heart felt like it slightly healed when I made eye contact with my best friend/boyfriend. I walked in the school building, seeing new faces I never seen before until my eyes landed on Ned and Peter. They were hugging and when they pulled away, Peter quickly snapped his head towards me and I felt my bottom lip quiver. It felt like I could finally breathe again, like a piece of me was brought back.
As tears streamed down my face, Peter and I ran towards each other and gave each other a tight hug. I buried my face into his neck and he buried his in mine. I inhaled his scent, clinging myself to him and Peter started sobbing. I pulled away, taking his face in my hands and when I looked at him. His eyes told me a story. He lost someone so important to him and he was grieving. I started hurting for him and more tears streamed down my face.
"Oh Peter," I whispered to him, pulling him close again. He cried and I looked back at Ned who was silently crying himself. I held out my hand for him and he joined us in the hug. Then I felt more arms around us and I noticed it was our friends.
Betty, Cindy, Abe, Michelle, even Flash. Which surprised me at first but it felt nice to have them. We hugged each other for a few minutes more before we all made our way to the office to collect our class schedule.
"Read me your schedule Pete." I said to my boyfriend.
He took in a deep breath and read it out aloud and each class he said my face scrunched up. He looked at me and I shook my head, still staring at my paper.
"No class together babe but, we do have the same math teacher..."
He smiled softly, "then we can still study together and ask each other questions."
I gently placed my hand on his cheek and the first class bell rang so we parted our ways. We adjusted slowly and it was hard and frustrating at first. Knowing right now we would've been in college or even graduating college, however, that wasn't the case.
Peter started to get better too, after many late night calls and him coming to my room when he couldn't sleep. Those days started to shorten, he became brighter.
Everyday he was much better, we all were. Right now I was in my math class, writing everything I needed to write, listening and occasionally asking questions when I didn't understand. I wanted to be on my A game this year so I worked really hard. I was to busy being focused that I didn't hear the front door open until a pair of lips made contact with my cheek.
"Oh!" I jumped, turning to see who it was. Surely enough it was my crime fighting Spider-Man, grinning from ear to ear.
"Mr. Parker lovely seeing you here," Mr. Jennings said, "again."
Peter looked at him and smiled, "sorry Mr. J, just needed to to see her again."
I felt my face heat up from Peter's words and I slightly sunk down on my chair. Mr. Jennings smiled and placed his hand on his hip before leaning on his chair.
"You see her everyday, do you do this to every class she has?"
"Only yours sir."
Our teacher smiled, "You two are cute, make a lovely couple. Now get to class Mr. Parker before I give you extra homework to do."
"Alright! Bye babe." He whispered to me before kissing my cheek again. I gave him a smile and he waved at my teacher who was back to writing on the board.
"Bye Mr. J!"
"See you same time tomorrow Peter." Mr. J said.
"Yeah yeah!"
Once Peter left, Mr. J turned to me and smiled.
"You sure got him wrapped around your finger."
Hearing my class snicker and send me 'oo's, I blushed even more and gave my teacher a nod.
"Thanks."
