You know, it's true when they say there are many stages in a relationship. First stage is the getting to know each other, second stage is awkwardness and butterflies, third stage is realizing you like one another, four stage is getting balls to ask one another out, fifth stage is nervousness, sixth is getting comfortable, seventh is asking one another to be boyfriend and girlfriend, and eighth stage is the honeymoon stage. Then there's more.
You're all in love happy and fun, then slowly you're still in love but just comfortable, after that it's 8 months into a relationship and you two are your own person again. Then more months pass by and the love suddenly fades after a year or so.
Most people are unlucky when that happens. And it happened to me.
My relationship with Tom was no longer the relationship I once loved. Now he's all hard and aggressive towards me. It's like I'm his maid and just his sex toy when he wants his needs to be fulfilled. We were in love once... I don't know what happened.
"Tom I'm home!" I called out, walking into our home. I placed down my bag and walked towards the living room, seeing Tom sitting on the couch with Harrison and a beer in his hand.
"Hey baby." I said softly, turning all stiff.
"Hey babe." He said, sipping his beer. I stood there quiet and he looked at me after he noticed I was just standing there.
"Well aren't you gonna give me my kiss?" He asked.
I blinked and walked over to him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. I looked at Haz and waved at him.
"Hey Harrison."
He smiled, "hi Y/n."
"How was your day at work?" I asked Tom, pushing his hair back. He loves when I baby him.
"Exhausting," He groaned. "They had me redo stunts over and over again."
I faked a frown, "oh I'm sorry baby." I said, digging my thumbs in the back of his neck to give him a massage. On days he complained about work, I learned to give attention.
"What about you?" He asked.
"Same old same old, nothing important."
Tom hummed, "right why don't you start dinner? Haz you staying for dinner?"
"Nah mate I can't, I have stuff to do."
"Oh Harrison please stay, we wouldn't mind." I said, slightly smiling.
"Hey!" Tom barked, harshly grabbing my hand that was on his shoulder. "If Haz can't stay then he can't. Don't force him."
My breath hitched and I looked down at him, giving him a quick nod and soft smile, "right." I said. "I'm sorry Haz".
"I'll start dinner," I mumbled, walking off towards the kitchen. Tom was never abusive, he never laid a hand on me before. He just always made me feel less and brought down my self-esteem with words.

"Hey man don't you think that was a little harsh?" Harrison spoke, sitting up straight.
I slightly scrunched up my nose and shrugged, "what do you mean?"
"The way you treated Y/n!" He said, raising his hand to point where my girlfriend had gone, "all she was doing was being nice!"
I shrugged again, "she's annoying sometimes."
"Mate you really need to start treating that girl with respect. She comes home to you after working all day, she cooks for you, takes care of you, does all the shit in the house and she literally flinches when you speak to her! That girl is scared of you!"
"What do you know huh?" I yelled. My head snapping towards him, "the fuck do you know about my girl!?"
Harrison stood up, "I know a lot Tom and if I ever see one bruise on her I swear I'll beat your ass. She's a sweet person, she doesn't deserve this."
Now I stood up, "you don't know what she deserves."
"Don't act so mighty now because you don't either."
Harrison grabbed his coat and walked off, shouting at Y/n a thank you and that he'll see her later. Once he left I threw my beer bottle at the wall, making Y/n scream and rush towards living room.
"See what you made me do!" I yelled.
She tensed up and starting shaking, pointing at the spill beer and broken glass. "I-I wasn't here when you threw that To-"
I growled and instantly grabbed her arm, yanking her towards me before she could even finish. I raised my hand high to smack her and all she did was gasp and look down, covering her face with her arms. I held my hand up for a second before letting her go harshly.
How did I let myself do this to her? How did things change so badly? I finally see what Harrison meant and it took me to almost hit her to realize that.
"Do you love me?" I asked Y/n.
She looked at me with strands of hair all over her face. She was breathing heavily and I could see she was trying to answer me as fast as she could but she was too afraid to speak.
"Y-yes Tom you k-know I love you."
"Don't lie to me!" I yelled, making her wince. I cupped and rubbed my face. I needed to let her go, I couldn't do this to her. I couldn't keep hurting her, she's scared of me. Back then she use to feel safe around me and now I'm just a monster to her.
"I treat you so bad." I said, "I'm so horrible to you."
There was silence.
I took a deep breath and ran my fingers through my hair, giving her one last glance before waving my hand.
"Pack your stuff and leave." I said, "you deserve to be free."
"Tom.."
"Just go!" I said loudly.
I could feel Y/n looking at me. I could feel her eyes and I felt them leave my body as I heard her footsteps go upstairs. I sat down back on the couch and watched the Tv, waiting for Y/n to walk down with her bags. I didn't look at her when she did. I didn't bother to stand up and give her hug or a kiss because I don't deserve it. I don't.
I saw her put on her coat from the corner of my eye and saw her grab her keys. I also saw her give me one last look before leaving.
Now I'm in an empty house, with no girlfriend but just an empty home. I deserved the emptiness because now I wasn't hurting anyone but myself.
