"So, that was rough." Kakashi said as he walked outside, seeing [Y/N] leaned up against the building. He came to stand beside her and couldn't help his heart beating faster.
"Just who does Asuma think he is?" She huffed, whipping her head up to look at Kakashi. "I mean seriously? He didn't have anything better to do in this whole world than to come and make my life miserable?"
Kakashi chuckled. "I don't think that's his intention. And you know, I think he had a point—don't give me that look. Even you have to admit that we're pretty hateful sometimes. I think getting out of the black ops could be a good thing, whether we like it or we don't."
[Y/N] looked at Kakashi once more. They'd worked together plenty in the past and she would even consider him one of her closest friends. Kakashi just had that kind of personality that meshed well with hers and they clicked. It meant they didn't really need words to communicate, which is what made them such a good team. It also meant that she knew him well enough that she could tell him to buzz off and he wouldn't take it to heart—he knew she was mad and would never really direct that kind of hostility at him. But the look in his eye when she looked up at his face convinced her to hold her tongue.
Instead, she sighed and rubbed her face. "Whatever. I think I'm gonna head to the bar and see if I can find Izumo or Genma or someone. I am gonna get completely trashed tonight and I don't even care right now."
She pushed off the building and started walking up toward town. She waved over her shoulder at Kakashi. "I'll see you around Kashi." He just laughed to himself again before turning and heading to the memorial stone. It was still a nice evening and he could use the time to relax and maybe read for a little while before starting on his new job tomorrow.
[Y/N] finally made it into the bar, only to be greeted by Kotetsu throwing his arm around her shoulders and laughing loudly. "Look everyone! Look who made it!" She laughed at him and rolled her eyes. From across the room Izumo facepalmed and waved them over. She pulled Kotetsu to the table, where she found Genma, Hayate, and Yugao were also sitting. Izumo scooted over in his booth to make room and [Y/N] plopped down next to him, throwing her head back and letting out a long sigh. Hayate, who was holding Yugao much closer than usual, raised an eyebrow. "That kind of day, huh?"
She flung her head forward to look at her friends. "Oh you don't even know. Who would've thought that your family could be so... miserable?"
Her friends laughed and Kotetsu slung himself into the booth, squishing [Y/N] between himself and Izumo. "Well, I know just how to fix that! We're all gonna buy you a round and you can get on this level."
[Y/N] frowned and looked up at him. "Uh, do I want on that level?"
Kotetsu laughed again, nodding his head furiously. He waved his hand, catching the waitress and ordering three rounds of sake. It didn't take very long before she, along with the rest of the table, was just as drunk as Kotetsu. Hayate and Yugao were making out in the corner of the booth, making Genma scoot to sit on the edge of their bench. Kotetsu and Izumo were locked in a heated argument over which ramen flavor was the best, pushing [Y/N] to the edge of their respective bench. Genma reached under the table and tapped [Y/N]'s knee, making her look up at him.
He smiled and nodded toward the back hall way that led toward the restrooms and an emergency exit. She raised an eyebrow at him and he grinned before standing up and stretching casually, then turning and making his way over to the hall. He glanced back over his shoulder at her as he disappeared around the corner, beckoning her to follow. She waited a few minutes to avoid suspicion and then got up and made her way in the same direction.
No sooner had she turned the corner and Genma had gently pushed her against the wall. His hands rested against the wall on either side of her head as he leaned over her. He put his head down next to hers and whispered in her ear, sending chills down her spine. "You look so good tonight. I can't keep my eyes off of you."
