[Y/N] enjoyed the rare missions alone. It gave her so much time alone to herself, which she definitely needed right now. She could do nothing else but think as she traveled alone. It was the perfect time to work through her feelings with no distraction or any outside input.

She focused on her surroundings long enough to get through the Land of Fire, stopping only for a few breaks here and there and making certain she avoided the other Leaf shinobi running through the trees, though she was slightly jealous that they would probably see some action soon.

When she crossed the border from the Land of Fire to the Land of Rain, she dropped to the ground quietly. She started through the new territory on the ground rather than the trees, moving silently as she began thinking again.

She felt okay with where she left things with both Kakashi and Genma. Sure, the little spat they had outside of Kakashi's apartment probably wasn't good, but she couldn't control that. Whatever happened was out of her knowledge.

But at the same time, she'd caused the argument. She was in the middle of it. And then a certain realization hit her. Would they always fight if she settled down with one of them? The other would surely be angry. But then, would they always fight if she didn't eventually choose, each blaming the other that they didn't get her? Or would they make their peace and move on too? Could she keep them both in her life if she chose one of them over the other?

Regardless, she had to decide one way or the other. She couldn't lead them on forever...

Since [Y/N] was alone, the trip went by much quicker than she'd anticipated (another benefit of traveling alone: you don't have to bend to anyone else's pace), but it was nightfall now and she was exhausted. She took care to conceal her position and mask her chakra before settling in to sleep. At first, she was restless. She couldn't get comfortable and her mind wouldn't stop racing. She eventually found sleep, knowing that if it hadn't been for her traveling all day, she wouldn't have slept so soundly.

Kakashi laid down that night, confused. He was sure that he and [Y/N] were on better terms, but she didn't stop by to see him at all over the past few days. Was she actually still upset at him? Did Genma find her again and convince her to choose him? Or was it that she didn't want either of them anymore?

Kakashi tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep with his brain running wild and torturing him with all of these scenarios. It didn't help that Naruto was tossing and turning too, groaning and huffing all night. Kakashi was grateful for the training he was giving Naruto, since it served as a major distraction, but the boy needed to learn some patience and just go to sleep.

Genma was also sleepless that night, kicking off all of his blankets. He kept replaying Kakashi's words in his mind. [Y/N] really slept with him again? Not that Genma was angry about it, just... hurt? He thought he was really making progress with her, making some kind of headway in earning her back. But now... was he? Or was it just his imagination?

She hadn't come to find him at all since his squabble with Kakashi. He was at the front gate all day for the last week, he would've seen if she'd left the village on a mission... Unless she used a side gate. Genma groaned to himself, throwing a pillow across the room. He didn't know what was happening with [Y/N] now. Did Kakashi win her back? Was she done with him? He rolled onto his side, huffing again and burying his face into his mattress.

Had she already made her decision?
