"So, do you wanna go back to my place and talk or what?" Genma asked, keeping his hands buried in his pockets as they walked. [Y/N] didn't think that going somewhere so private and alone was really a good idea, but at the same time she didn't want an audience.

"Um, I guess so. I don't know where else we could go."

"We could go to our spot. You know, the place on the wall."

"It's kind of getting dark out now though."

"That means that no one will be around to bother us."

"Okay."

[Y/N] was hesitant to agree and Genma could tell, but he shrugged it off. This conversation was going to have to happen eventually. He guided her toward the far end of the village in silence, neither one bothering to break it. The streetlights started coming on, one by one, as they climbed the stairs to the top of the wall. Once they reached the top, the sun had just set behind the hills and the stars were starting to come out. Genma looked up at them and laughed.

"What's so funny?" [Y/N] asked, glancing up at the sky too.

"It's just that every time I was here with you, I swore that I would marry you someday." He looked away from the stars and glanced over at her. "It doesn't seem like that'll ever really happen now, huh?"

"Genma..."

He held his hands up in defense. "I'm sorry, you're right. That's not what we're here for."

[Y/N] sighed and leaned back against the ledge, supporting herself on her arms. Genma did the same, standing across from her. He wanted to stand beside her, but he figured that would be too close for comfort right now. He didn't want to pressure her or freak her out, so he chose to stay across the walkway, keeping his distance from her.

They remained standing in silence for a while, long enough that Genma was starting to feel more and more awkward. After fifteen minutes passed, he finally cleared his throat.

"So..." He started, trying to the start a conversation when she remained still, saying nothing. She kept her head down and still didn't speak so he sighed and rubbed his forehead. "[Y/N], you're going to have to say something."

"I know."

"So say something."

"I don't know what to say yet."

Genma rolled his eyes. "Say what you feel like you need to say."

"Well, I don't know what that is yet." She said, irritably.

"Well I guess just start talking."

"What am I supposed to say?!"

Genma was also growing frustrated, his voice raising slightly. "Anything! [Y/N], I just need to know what's going through your head."

"You wanna know what's going through my head? Okay, fine Genma. I'm thinking about how Kakashi would hate to know I'm here alone with you, even though we're technically broken up right now over this whole damn mess. I'm thinking about how much that hurts me because I miss him so much." [Y/N] stopped yelling for long enough to take a deep breath and when she spoke again, her voice was barely above a whisper.

"And I'm thinking about how wrong it is that all I've wanted to do since we got here is come over there and kiss you because I've missed you too."

Genma turned to face her completely. She was staring at the ground, kicking a few rocks around. He felt his heart rate speeding up. "[Y/N]..."

The second she looked up and their eyes met, they both knew it was over. They closed the distance between them quickly and forcefully, slamming their bodies together and their lips meeting roughly. [Y/N]'s arms wrapped around Genma's neck while his held her tightly around her waist.

When they broke for air, [Y/N] started kissing down Genma's neck. He tilted his head up to let her get better access before he swallowed. "[Y/N], should we do this? Are you okay?"

"Genma, just shut up and kiss me."

And everything went out the window. Any reasonable thinking or reservation. Any guilt or fear melted away as his fingers traced her skin. Her mind clouded as his lips ran over her body and she couldn't even form a coherent thought. When they finally became one, it was like coming home again. Everything was familiar and warm and pleasant and she couldn't help the soft moans coming from her throat as he whispered sweet nothings into her ear.
