Kakashi had decided not to send word to the Sand village for [Y/N] that he was awake again. She would be back soon enough and she didn't need any more on her plate to worry about. Asuma had warned him that he would get it from her when she got back but Kakashi just shrugged and went on his way.

[Y/N] had just gotten back into the village that evening and reported to Tsunade to catch her up on everything regarding the Sand village. The two sat in her office, talking back and forth until everything was settled. Once the business part was over, [Y/N] sat back in her chair and laid her head back, groaning. Since her father had been the one to train Tsunade (and the other Sannin), [Y/N] had grown up around them and had come to see both Tsunade and Jiraiya as family. She didn't hesitate to make herself comfortable or speak freely around them.

"You have no idea how grateful I am that you're here."

"Hmm. Diplomatic business isn't for you, huh? I guess that's what I'm here for after all." Tsunade teased, only slightly showing how bored she was herself with the prospect of diplomatic business and all the damn paperwork.

"Well, yeah, I mean, I'm glad I don't have to be filling in for that anymore. But that's not really what I'm most glad about."

"Oh? What then?"

"Well, you're known for your medical practice. My boyf—my friend, Kakashi Hatake, faced Itachi Uchiha not long ago and he's been in a coma or something since. Asuma and I were hoping you'd see him—"

"Kakashi? That one with the silver hair and the mask? I went to see him days ago. He's been up and walking around for some time now. In fact, I'm about to start sending him out on missions again."

"He... he's what?"

Tsunade started to speak again before [Y/N] stood abruptly. "I'm sorry, Lady Tsunade. I've got to be on my way!"

She turned and ran out of the Hokage's office. Kakashi was fine? He was awake? She had to see him! As she made her way out of the building, she debated on where he would be. Home? Probably not. He's not one to skulk around at home. Training? Already? He could be... The memorial stone? Equally as likely. She decided the best way was to just start looking.

She checked his apartment. The training ground. The memorial stone. The ramen shop. The book shop. He was nowhere to be found. She came out of the bookstore and looked up, sighing at the darkening sky before her heard him. "Looking for me?"

She turned and there stood Kakashi, leaning against the corner of the building she had just come out of, reading that stupid book of his and acting like he was so cool. He closed his book and looked at her slyly before nodding his head back toward the alley on the side of the building. Then he turned and disappeared around the corner. She made her way quickly around the building and Kakashi stood there in the middle of the alleyway. He looked up from the ground and smiled at her. "C'mere you."

She grinned even bigger and ran to close the small distance between them. He lifted her into his arms and she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. He held her tightly against him, breathing her in. His legs gave way and he fell back to lean against the wall, chuckling. "Damn, I've missed you."

"You missed me? I've been waiting on you to wake up from your little nap!" She teased him lightly, giggling into his neck. He shook his head, amused at how she laughed at her own joke. "Hm. That was a clever one. How can I go on after that?" He teased back. She only smiled harder into his neck.

"Say, I've got an idea," he said lowly, "why don't we get out of here and I'll show you just how much I missed you back at my place, hm?"

That sly dog. She shook her head and laughed. "Kakashi, you think you're so slick, don't you?" He shrugged. "Maybe... You're still gonna say yes aren't you?"

She bit her lip, remembering what he'd said before. If you only knew what biting that lip does to me... "Yeah, I guess I am."

"Then I guess I am slick, huh?"
