"Kakashi, you are so harsh!" He heard her from somewhere behind him. He turned and seen [Y/N] picking up her pace to catch up. He waved and smiled so hard his eyes started to squint. He just couldn't help it. Every time he seen her it was like his face just couldn't stop from putting that stupid grin into place. "What are you talking about? Me? Harsh?"
She finally caught up and they started walking down the street together. "Of course. I heard you up on the balcony talking to your new group. You're trying to scare them already!" Kakashi chuckled. "If I don't scare them now, they'll never be afraid and then they won't listen to me. We all have to start somewhere you know," he shrugged and then tilted his head in amusement. "So, you're eavesdropping on me now?"
She blushed and looked away from him, clearing her throat. "Uhm, no. I was just passing by. Actually, I was looking for you when I heard you talking, so really, I had to wait..."
Kakashi glanced at her, watching as she played with her hair before she smiled up at him again. "So listen, I'm going to meet Asuma, Guy, and Kurenai for dinner, do you want to come too?" He smiled down at her and nodded. "Sure, I'd be happy to join."
[Y/N] tried her best to ignore the thumping in her chest from how hard her heart was beating. Kakashi was funny and laid back and gorgeous, even with only his one eye exposed. It was like he didn't even try and here she was, falling head over heels for him. But then, she had been falling for him since she was fourteen. Asuma of course liked to tease her about it when he found out she liked Kakashi, one of his best friends. She had threatened him countless times not to tell Kakashi and as far as she knew, he'd obeyed (although he spent plenty of time still trying to convince her to go for it and equally as long doing the same to Kakashi). But there was no way she would ever just tell Kakashi. She knew he wouldn't feel the same way. But damn, she just couldn't shake these feelings for him...
"What's got you?" Kakashi asked, noticing how she went quiet. She blushed ever so slightly, realizing that she had just stopped talking altogether. "Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking." Kakashi raised an eyebrow but decided to let it go. He even pretended that he didn't notice the slight rush of color to her cheeks, although his curiosity gnawed at him.
"There you are! And look who you picked back up along the way!" Asuma's booming voice could've been heard a mile away. [Y/N] smiled and ran ahead to hug her brother. Asuma laughed and hugged her back. He looked over her shoulder at Kakashi. For a moment he raised his eyebrow but then he winked at Kakashi. Asuma may be very protective of [Y/N], but he did like Kakashi (much better than Genma) and thought he'd be a good match for his little sister. If only that silver haired puss would do anything about it.
Asuma released her and pulled back the curtain to the ramen restaurant, holding it back for [Y/N] and Kakashi. As he passed, Asuma whispered to Kakashi. "So. Asked her out yet?" Kakashi glared out of the corner of his eye and neglected to respond as he walked by. Asuma chuckled to himself and followed them in.
They walked further into the restaurant where Guy and Kurenai were already sitting. [Y/N] waved at them both and rushed to sit with Kurenai. Kurenai smiled and whispered something to [Y/N], who rolled her eyes, laughed and whispered something back, making Kurenai blush. Guy stood when Kakashi and Asuma made it to the table. "Evening, rival." Then he winked and moved over a chair so that everyone could sit around the table.
Once everyone was settled, [Y/N] was sandwiched between Guy and Kakashi, leaving Kurenai and Asuma to sit next to one another. Everyone ordered and started talking. Asuma asked about Kakashi's students, asking if he thought he would actually pass any of them this year. Kakashi shrugged and laughed a little bit, "Ah, hah. I dunno. They're really something this year." Guy smirked and made a joke about how tough Kakashi thought he was, making [Y/N] laugh. Kakashi blushed ever so slightly, thankful for his mask. But the hopeful look he threw her way did not go unnoticed by the others, who all exchanged knowing glances.
