41 | Got It Bad

"[Y/N]... he's going to be okay." Asuma said as Kurenai and Guy both went into Kakashi's room to lay him down in bed.

"How do you know that?"

"I mean, it's Kakashi. The man can't die."

"Asuma... that was Itachi. Itachi! He just... he and I... and Kakashi..." She sat down on Kakashi's couch and put her head in her hands. Asuma frowned and furrowed his eyebrows. "Why don't you come sit with Kakashi and we can—"

"No!" [Y/N] jumped up and startled Asuma. "No. I have to find Itachi. Now." And with that, she was gone. Asuma sighed and made his way into Kakashi's room. Kurenai looked up as he came into the room. "Where's [Y/N]?"

"She left. She's got it out for Itachi now."

"What? She can't go after him alone!"

"I don't think she'll find him. She'll be too worried about Kakashi to think straight. Plus, after that little stunt, I think Itachi is smart enough to stay out of sight. At any rate, she'll come back soon."

Kurenai nodded. "Yeah... You know, she's got it bad for Kakashi."

Guy chuckled a little. "Sure, but Kakashi's got it bad for her as well. Maybe even worse."

Asuma grinned. "Don't tell them you heard it from me, but you two know they're together now, right? They're really a thing."

Guy and Kurenai gasped but grinned all the same. Kurenai looked up at Asuma. "Well, after everything that's happened, it's about time."

"Way to go Kakashi!" Guy said, giving his usual thumbs up signature shining smile, though Kakashi was still out of it and obviously couldn't pay him any mind.

Asuma smiled. "Yeah, it is about time. Hopefully Kakashi wakes up soon or [Y/N] will worry herself to death. Now, what do we do about Itachi and that other one...?"

It wasn't long before Asuma found he was right. [Y/N] was too angry and unable to find Itachi. She was back at Kakashi's a few hours later. She sat at his desk and watched him sleep, guilt eating at her for not having been able to help him. It was about dinner time when Asuma knocked. "Hey, I brought dinner by. Wanna come in here and eat with me?"

She nodded and stood up before following Asuma into Kakashi's kitchen. "Asuma, it is weird?"

"Is what weird?"

"That I'm here like this. Kakashi and I have only been together a month but I am so worried for him."

"Well, a month officially. But you two have been in love with each other for at least a year now, probably longer if I had to guess. Since your days in ANBU together, I'd say. Just because it took you two forever to actually grow a pair and actually do anything about it—don't give me that look—doesn't mean that you two weren't falling harder every day. You two just go together, you know? Like you've been together for ages."

"Do you really think he'll be okay?"

"I do. Besides, Jiraiya and Naruto have gone to find Tsunade. They'll bring her back and she can heal him."

[Y/N] nodded, silently praying that her brother was right.
