"What? So I'm your rebound guy now?" Genma asked, leaning against the frame of his front door, smirking down at her. [Y/N] had shown up out of the blue, knocking on his door and pulling him out of his nap on the couch. He wasn't surprised, as she had a habit of showing up uninvited whenever she was bored. Of course, he didn't mind it. She was still his friend after all and he still loved her all the same.

"No, I don't know. Ugh, Genma." She stuttered over her words.

It had been a little over three weeks since the thing with Kakashi. She couldn't get him out of her head and it was driving her crazy. She didn't want to bother her brother with it anymore, as she knew he was pissed off about it still anyway. So instead she came to Genma. They were still very close and she knew he would be okay with listening to her rant, even about Kakashi. So she knocked on his door and immediately just spilled her guts to him as soon as the door opened. And of course, he responded with his wise-ass joke.

He couldn't help but to feel bad for her. He knew Kakashi alright, but he never figured something like this would happen between him and [Y/N]. So he invited her in, letting her continue to stutter over her words before she just gave up and flopped on his couch. "I just don't know, Genma."

He lifted her feet up so that he could sit down and then placed her feet back in his lap. "You know, I have to admit that of all things, I did not see this one coming."

"See what? Us kissing? Or him being a total dick about it after?"

"Well, both I guess. I mean you and Kakashi? That's... new."

"Well, it's old news now apparently."

"Look, why don't we get your mind off of it? I've got some of mom's leftovers in the fridge I can heat up, your favorite. We'll have dinner in and then play shogi or watch a movie or something. You can even stay here tonight if you want, okay?"

[Y/N] smiled at him. "Yeah, that sounds amazing Gen. You always know how to cheer me up. Thanks."

"I won't even try to get you naked... unless you want me to--OW!"

[Y/N] rolled her eyes and promptly delivered a smack to Genma's chest.

And for the first time in weeks, she didn't once think about Kakashi.
