"Kakashi!"
He had just left the hospital and was on his way across town to find [Y/N] when she called to him. His heart fluttered and his face heated up, a blush covering his cheeks. The woman of his dreams stood in front of him, smiling.
"[Y/N]." He called back gently, making his way to her. He held his arms open and she stepped into them, hugging him tightly. He hugged her back, taking in her familiar scent. It had been much too long since he'd held her this close.
She pulled away too soon for his liking, but he said nothing. Instead, he watching her nervously rub her arm. "Kashi... we need to talk."
"Hm. So we do."
"Privately?"
"Why don't we go back to my place?"
[Y/N] nodded and followed him through town to his apartment. They made small talk along the way, [Y/N] asking about his latest trip and him asking about the attack last night. He'd noticed the few bruises that littered her body and the fact that her uniform was still disheveled. She must not have had a chance to really rest... but if she didn't go home to at least change, then where was she? Did she sleep in the lounge with the rest of them?
Kakashi let his thoughts run away as he listened to her describe last night's events. When she finished, they were finally at his apartment.
"Well," he said, unlocking his door, "It certainly sounds like you all had a busy night."
He swung the door open and let them in, closing the door behind them. [Y/N] made her way to sit on his couch in her usual spot. Kakashi sat down next to her, leaning back and resting his head on the back of the couch. He pulled his mask down, something he was used to doing around just her, and took a deep breath.
[Y/N] admired his handsome features before looking away and clearing her throat. "So... I guess there's no sense in beating around the bush then... Let's talk."
Kakashi pulled his head up and looked at her. "Okay. Let's talk."
"...Where are you on everything, Kashi?" She asked, twiddling her thumbs nervously. He furrowed his eyebrows and reached over to put a hand on her thigh.
"Hey, there's no need to be nervous, okay? It's just me, [Y/N]."
"Right, okay. I'm sorry. But really, Kakashi, where do you stand on everything?"
"I'm... okay. I'm not happy with where everything is right now. I mean, I'm missing my should-be girlfriend. But I'm okay. I'm not mad or upset or anything of the sort. I just want you to be happy."
[Y/N] nodded and took a deep breath. "Okay. Well look. While you were gone, I spoke with Genma."
Kakashi resisted the urge to tense up. It was only normal that she speak to Genma. She would have to speak with them both eventually. "Oh? How did that go?"
"Kakashi... we're technically broken up right now, right?"
"Right... why do you ask?"
"I'm asking you so that I know we're on the same page... so that you know I would never, never cheat on you. I love you so much Kakashi. I want to be completely honest with you though..."
"You slept with him, didn't you?"
[Y/N] didn't speak, which answered his question anyway. How was she supposed to admit that she had sex with Genma again while he was away? She didn't even dare glance at Kakashi, afraid to see his facial expression. Instead, she stared at her lap, tears forming in her eyes.
Kakashi cleared his throat. "Well, I'm especially not happy about that, but we are broken up. You're right, you didn't cheat on me."
"Do you hate me?"
"Hate you? Sweetheart, I could never hate you. I'm still completely and madly in love with you, I swear it. We're just going through some things right now that need to be worked out."
[Y/N] let a few tears fall. "I'm so sorry Kakashi. I wish that I didn't feel this way. I wish that I knew what I was doing. You don't deserve any of this."
Kakashi reached over and pulled her into his arms. "Hey, hey. It's okay. You can't help how you feel."
They stayed that way for a while until [Y/N] managed to stop the tears flowing down her cheeks. Kakashi sat with his own thoughts. What is it about Genma that always got to her? How did he manage to get back into her heart?
Kakashi wanted, needed, to know. He wanted to top it. He wanted to do everything Genma did, only better. He wanted to touch her like he did, kiss her like he did, only make her feel a thousand times better. Surely he could be more, he could do better for her. So he was the first to speak, asking her exactly what he wanted to know.
"Tell me... what is it about him that drives you wild?"
"W-what?" [Y/N] asked, startled by his question. Kakashi flipped her down onto his couch before moving to hover over her, holding his weight on his arms.
"Is it the way he touches you? The way he kisses you?"
"Kakashi." She whispered, her voice cracking.
"It is the way he makes love to you?" Kakashi whispered back.
"Kakashi, what are you doing?"
"[Y/N], we can talk later. For now, let me show you how much I missed you, how much I love you too. Let me drive you wild."
[Y/N] was in no position to deny him. She wanted Kakashi too. She wanted to let him touch her the way that he intended. She wanted to feel him again and so she nodded, giving Kakashi the permission that he'd been seeking.
"Trust me, sweetheart, no one's ever touched you like I'm about to."
