5: This Love's Gotta Go

"Parang madalian naman ata ang bakasyong 'to, Cyrus?" She laughs at the other line. (Basta basta, magkita tayo doon sa opisina mo)

"Teka naman, hindi pa ako pumayag eh" she let's out a soft chuckle (Pumayag ka na kasi, isang gabi lang naman tayo doon---)

"Alam ba to ni Alyana?"

(Medyo)

"Anong medyo? Engot ka, hindi ako sasama sayo kung ganon"

(Sasabihan ko naman siya. Sige na, samahan mo na ako doon)

"Sige, fine. Pero sasabihan mo siya ha?"

(Oo nga. Tsaka pala, wag mo'ng dalhin si Rio)

"Ay wow, ang hilig mong magsali ng mga tao'ng wala sa usapan no? Hahahaha pero okay fine"

(Sige, yun lang. Kita na lang tayo)

Syn puts her phone down with a confused face, did she just agree to that? The heck? It's already 7:30 am but it just so happens that she's not afraid to be late. She seemed to be floating in Cloud 9 and she doesn't even care if she's going to be late.

"Ma'am, nag-alala po ako sa inyo akala ko po---" Cindy was cut off with a bright smile, "Pero mabuti na po nandito na kayo" Cindy added and smiled.

"Schedule?" Syn asks and makes her way to her desk. "No other major events today until next week just like you said, ma'am," Cindy answered and sat down in front of Syn. She furrowed her eyebrows, still wearing a smile "Yes?" Syn asks Cindy because she was looking at her confusedly.

"You look happy today, Ma'am. Are you happy-happy or are you the i-have-to-act-happy-because-i-have-to-move-on kind of happy?" Cindy asks back. Syn smiles and laughs a bit, "You're getting better at interrogating na ha. But I am happy-happy kind of happy right now."

"Eh Bakit po?"

"Basta. By the way, I'll be away for a day or two"

"Okay po, ilalagay ko lang sa planner niyo po"

Syn nods at Cindy and looks at her window.

"With whom po?" Cindy asks again, "Bakit? Ilalagay mo din sa planner?" Syn laughs, then Cindy laughs along. "Sino Nga po ba?"

"Si Cyrus" Syn smiles from ear to ear. Both of them looked at the door as they heard two knocks before it opened.

They reached their destination by six in the evening. Hacienda del Fuego-Arellano. Cyrus owned the land, he stayed there when he was younger but he had to go to Manila to manage his father's legacy.

"Maligayang pagbabalik, Synthia at Cyrus. Mabuti po't muli kayong napasyal Rito" the both of them were greeted by an old man, who was about a few inches shorter than Syn.

"Manong, hello po ulit! It's so good to be back here" Syn hugs the old man and so as the old woman who just came to their spot.

"Synthia! Ikaw ba iyan? Ang laki mo na!" the old woman exclaims and hugs Syn once more, "Cyrus, iho! Mabuti't dumalaw kayo rito! Medyo matagal-tagal na rin magmula noong huling punta niya rito"

"Manang Sesing, hindi po kami masyadong magtatagal. Isang gabi lang po kami dito at uuwi na rin po kami" Cyrus hugs the old woman.

"Kamusta naman doon sa Maynila, mga anak?" Manong Berting, the old man asks "Maayos naman po. Medyo busy lang ng konti pero keri pa naman" Syn replies, Cyrus immediately commented on what she said.

"Nako Manong, Manang wag po kayong maniwala diyan kay Synthia. Sa sobrang kabisihan po niyan ay halos di na kumakain at natutulog makapunta lang sa meeting niya"
