"Syn, ako na ang bahala kay Nio." Dawn said, bringing her kit inside Nio's room to clean his tiny wound. She followed her inside. Nio smiled tightly at her as if the antiseptic didn't sting even though it did "Did it hurt?" Dawn asked, also putting anesthetic on his wound as she pulled out the pencil tip buried deep in his skin.

Nio's tears pooled and he shook his head "No, I'm thtrong."

"What happened at school? What did you do?" Syn interrogated. Nio grunted and crossed his arms "What did I do? Mommy, it wath Vanetha'th fault. The thtole my crayon and called you a thief for thtealing her daddy from them. Then the jutht thtabbed me with her penthil."

"We-we-wait, so it was Vanessa Arellano?" Dawn interposed and looked at Syn "Pinsan, sinasali ni Alyana ang anak nila sa gulo."

"I'm sure they're talking about it right now, I won't bother giving him a ring." she said and held Nio's hair. Dawn has a lot to say about what happened but she can't say it because he's here and he might recall everything even the smallest details if he hears it. The door knob twisted and revealed Rio with a worried smile.

His eyes immediately looked for Nio and the worry faded away as soon as he saw him, "Buddy!" he sounded cheerful.

"Look, Daddy! Mama Dawn gave me a lollipop for being thtrong." Nio said as Rio was making his way to them, a kiss at the side of Syn's lips and then wrapped an arm around her waist. They looked at each other and exchanged worried expressions-that moment, Rio knew who did that to his child. Nio then looked at Rio with a teary look, "Daddy ith outhy!" he squealed.

"But I thought it didn't?" Syn smirked.

"I can't feel my arm, mommy!"

"It will only last until you sleep, baby boy." Dawn answered and got her things into her bag—it was the effect of the anesthetic, she assured. Syn knew there was something different with Dawn so she crossed her arms and examined her, "What?" Dawn's forehead creased.

Syn shook her head "Something's wrong here, Zulueta, tell me."

Dawn was reluctant.

"Knew it." Syn said and held Dawn by the hand as they made their way out of the room. "Now tell me, kanina pa ako nag-aalala sayo. What's happening to you?"

"Richard..." she bit her thumb and looked at her phone intently and then back at Syn, "he said he wants me back." she finally said it.

A smile carved on Synthia's face, a genuine smile. She knows what Dawn and Richard's been through and then boom-they are truly binded by fate. Syn held her hand "Alam kong you're reluctant as of now but I can see through your eyes, Dawn, believe me-your eyes tells me everything that even a magic mirror can't, mahal mo pa siya."

"But Syn he's part of the barkada."

"Aga is part of the barkada, Rio is part of the barkada—we loved each other from the very day we swore an oath." Syn said. Dawn's tears brimmed and as she chuckled with Syn's words, her tears were just right on time. "I'll think about it-"

"Sino yan?" Dawn asked as she was being cut off by a phone call.

"It's Danzel, I have to take this call."

"Go ahead, pakisabi congrats ha."

Syn nodded and placed the phone near her ear. And with a smile, she uttered the words of greetings "Danzellie, sweetheart, kamusta ang results?" She was using cheery tone to greet Danzel. But she heard no response, "Danzel? Hello?" still nothing.
