Here she is at 3 AM in the NAIA Airport, crying as shes on facetime with Dawn to make sure he's still sleeping soundly after she left him. This will be the very first time she'll leave the country with the fact that Rio will only be with them as an angel to keep them safe at all times; will only remain as a memory to keep safely in their hearts.
She whiffed and said goodbye as the intercom announced their flight. Her eyes were puffy with all the crying she did but she really had to do this.
As she sat down, she quickly fixed herself and texted Cyrus before they could take off.
To Cyrus
3:39 AM
I am saying goodbye to Philippines na, love. I didn't bother to have you make hatid me here sa airport kasi alam ko iiyak ako talaga. I miss you agad, I will call you. Please don't forget about our Nio.
Darn it, this is useless. She said to herself as her tears streamed uncontrollably down the ample of her cheeks. Her sobs were even more audible the second they took off. Her separation anxiety is kicking in, real hard which is weird enough for her. She thought either facetiming or texting Nio and the daddy would work but an unexpected turnout of events, it eventually made things worse.
She woke up real tired and dehydrated when they were about to land. Time went by like a super typhoon's wind velocity and just as promised, she was escorted from the airport to her hotel.
So much for being world renowned, she was given bodyguards for her protection whenever she's out of the hotel. It was kind of unusual for her but she had to go with it. As she opened her hotel room, she checked on her fridge and was surprised to see it stuffed with all the things her foodie side expected. Nausea fortunately refused to visit her, hunger did. She took the prepared club cheese sandwich and a bottle of pokari sweat out to rehydrate herself.
"I'm famished." she sighed and sat down on the chair. She felt lonelier as she saw the snow covering the surface of the city outside her window. Which made her check her phone for any messages but still no text from Cyrus nor Dawn.
She sulked and ate her food. As expected, her phone rang and showed Cyrus' caller ID.
Her heart leaped in joy and goof.
"I miss you!" she teared up and requested for a FaceTime call. She could see on her screen how he missed her, "Wag ka umiyak. Ako lang ang pwedeng umiyak baka mapauwi ako." she wiped her tears and took the phone to her lips.
"I miss you." she whispered.
(Ngi, ulitin mo nga.) A smile was starting to peek on his face. "Eh I said it na!" she teased.
(Ano ba kase sinabi mo? You miss me?) he tried to annoy her. "Linisin mo nga tainga mo gamit ang sandok! Sabi ko I miss Nio." she was keeping her composure. His face was real adorable, "Only kidding, love. I miss you a lot." she smiled from ear to ear and so did he.
(Tampo pa naman ako, ayaw ko sana makipagfacetime kaso crush parin kita eh. Alam ko naman crush mo rin ako kaya di na kita pinahirapan.) he smiled and got up from his bed. She burst into giggles "Pinagsasabi mo? Apakawaley, sana alam mo!" she continued.
His chuckles were audible to her, (Waley daw, eh tawang-tawa ka diyan.) and then he sighed. Her laughter slightly vanished before he spoke the words that broke her heart a little bit.
(Sana nandito ka...) he looked down and then back to her (...ngayon sa tabi ko.) The most bitter smile was carved on his face.
"I will be back in your arms in no time. Now don't forget about Nio's classes; last week na nila kaya be his mommy and daddy sa last day. Keri mo yan, Mister Daddy!" she cheered for him. Cyrus nodded and nodded, (Simpleng bagay para sa kaniya—)
Cyrus was still speaking on the other line when her phone showed a banner notification of her reminder which automatically dwindled the call volume.
