8: Stealing Moments

"Okay, okay, listen everybody" all eyes were on Syn. "Today we'll be having our first graded oral recitation. This will be 50 percent of your grades. Write your names on a 1/4 index card and pass it to the person in front of you." She instructed. There were a few more offers for Syn to be a speaker or guest instructor beyond LSI University's and since her schedule was clear for the rest of the week, she decided to accept them.

"Okay, we have... Dervin Andalye, where are you?" She looks at the student.

"Here Attorney" the student stood up from his chair. She leaned on the table and crossed her arms, "When did they issue the---"

"Attorney, time na po"

"Talaga ba? Hindi pa naman ah, it's still... 11:50, 10 minutes won't hurt" Syn looks at the students as they nervously looked at Dervin Andalye who obviously didn't know about the oral recitation.

"Huhu, Dervin my loves kaya mo yan" some of the students cheered. Syn shushed them.

"When did they issue the---"

"Attorney, may bisita ka" it was the faculty head talking. "Good morning Ma'am Jessa" Syn smiles and walked to the door.

"Sino daw po?"

"He's with me"

"He?--- Cyrus, y-you're here" Syn froze in a matter of seconds. Jessa chuckled and nudged Cyrus "Ikaw na ang bahala diyan, I'll take it from here" Jessa says and went inside the room.

"Yieeeeee, attorney!" All her students teased as she got her bag. She looked at them with a silly smile.

Cyrus leaned on the door frame, waiting for her. When he saw her walking towards his direction, he reached his arms for her; she held his hands and then they walked together.

"Bakit ka nga pala nandito? Hindi ba masakit ang ulo mo?" She asks all of a sudden. He looked at her and pulled her close to him.

"Namiss kita agad" he whispers and opened the car's door for her. "Ang siopao, pwede mong bola-bolahin pero ako hindi" Syn rolls her eyes and laughs.

"Bakit? Totoo naman ah, namiss talaga kita" he replies and turns on the engine. Syn looks away with her cheeks turning scarlet.

"Synthia"

"Mmm?" Here we go again. She remembers the last conversation Cyrus and she had. It was just like this.

"Kung sakaling manligaw si Rio... Sasagutin mo ba siya?" He asks, a bit scared of what answer will be.

"Rio? Courting me? Goodness, why not" she burst into laughter. He turned silent, she knew what was going on.

She held his hand. "Wag kang magseselos, walang tayo" she laughs again. Cyrus looks away and continued driving.

"Walang tayo pero akin ka---akin ka lang"

Her heart skipped a beat.

"Yours? In what way, mmm? Kindly prove that statement?"

"You're with me---you're mine"

"Iba talaga! Iba pala ibig sabihin ng 'yours' sayo no?" She laughs so hard "But I can consider" she winks after.

They reached their destination, Syn immediately opened her door and went out. She's too hungry to wait for Cyrus to open the door.

"Ay hindi makapaghintay? Tara na, Ipagsho-shopping kita"

"Kumain muna tayo, kumakalam na Ang tiyan ko. Tagal mong makapagdrive eh" She complains and wrinkled her nose. She looked so cute, he chuckled and held her hands "May kasama akong attorney"
