30: Surprise

"Where is my son?! What happened to my son?!" Syn ran to the principal's office and then the door opened and Rio came. In times like these, only Rio can pacify the powerful woman. Syn's fear was boundless and unexplainable, it's level of intensity went off its border as soon as she heard Nio's name on the phone earlier.

"What happened?" Rio asked.

"A-Architect, kasi po, lunch break po ng mga bata tapos may dumating pong sundo ni Nio, siya daw ang ama niya at narecognize naman siya ng bata so in-allow ko po yung lalaki na makausap ang bata—"

Rio's jaw clenched "What a surprise, Arellano."

Syn was relieved somehow to know who has her son. She turned to Rio with her pleading eyes, "We have to get him baka dalhin niya kung saan. Please, please, let's get my son and take him back safely." her eyes do not just show the pain and fear, there was trauma brimming at the very bottom. Rio excused themselves and told the principal and the adviser that he'll probably call as soon as they get Nio back.

"Lea, do you have any idea kung saan ang bahay ni Cyrus?" Syn called Lea, gasping for air. (Gurl, ano namang gagawin mo dun? Akala ko ba masaya ka na? Ayaw mo na sa kaniya? Why bother running after that fothermucker?) Lea asked in total confusion but Syn had no time to explain, "I'll explain it to you as soon as I get my son back. Give me his address, please."

(What?! So he has Nio? Okay, okay, uhh wait—Teresa Subdivision block 3, Lot 7) Lea answered. "Thank you so much, Lei." and then she dropped the call.

She turned to Rio and covered her face with her palm.

"Honey, c'mon, hopes up." he said and took off her hand from her face and intertwined it with his.  Syn looked at him, her tears falling down and just couldn't stop brimming at the side of her eyes. "If I paid much more attention to Nio's dream then sana hindi ito nangyari. Kaya hindi ko na dapat ipinakilala si Nio, hindi ko na dapat pinagbigyan ang konsensiya ko at hindi na dapat tayo nagtagal dito."

"The blame isn't on you, it's on Cyrus kasi kinuha niya ang bata without even calling you."

"I can file a case against him, he dared to try me—wrong move." she shook her head in contempt, Cyrus and his awful decisions are such pain in the ass.

They arrived at the location.

There was Cyrus' car, parked right outside his house. Alyana could possibly be here but her motherly heart does not recognize any foe as long as the catch is her son, she is here for her son and not for that woman. She raced to the gate as soon as she got down from the car. Her guts can feel his son's presence and she is dying to see him once again. She rang the bell by pressing it over and over.

The gate opened and revealed Cyrus.

"Gago ka." Rio pinned him on wall as he got inside. Syn raced to his house to search for Nio. "Synthia, teka lang!" Cyrus fought Rio back and then ran after Syn who was already inside the house.

"Ang lakas ng loob mong kunin ang anak ko matapos nating gumawa ng kasunduan!  kahit hindi yun nakasulat sa papel at sa itim na tinta, pumayag ka parin pero nagawa mong isahan ako." she raged and turned her back on him to continue the search. "And yes, I will make a scene here if I have to."

"Alonio Junyus Ravena, let's go home!" she screamed and searched through every room. A familiar voice of a boy came from outside, "Mooooommy!" and their paths met. Syn had her arms wide open to receive Nio's warm hug. "Mommy was worried, did he hurt you?"

"You mean mithter Dad? Nu-uh but why are you here? The thurprith ith not ready yet." he said.

She was confused, "What do you mean?" Nio brought her outside and it brought shivers down her spine. The magnificent view and lovely designs covered the entire back yard. "Didn't you and mithter Dad talked about thith?"
