Synthia's weary eyes just fluttered into complete consciousness and she could already feel how sore her whole body is. She felt like she couldn't say a word, she couldn't let out a whimper nor could she even protest. All she could do was whisper a prayer while it was still silent and tranquil.

"Pagod ka na ba, Attorney?"

Synthia's eyes gazed up and had it locked on the person infront of her.

"Don't give me that look, Synthia. Do you want to play another game? What do you wanna do?" A devilish smile flashed right before her eyes but all Syn could think of was home—home with Nio.

"Ho...me." she uttered, almost unclear.

"Lakasan mo, tangina" she stepped right on Synthia's broken leg and made sure it'll leave a painful dent on her skin. Synthia winced and screamed, her tears welled up and were prepared to emerge too quickly. She repeated her prayer, she protested and tried to untangle the knot that's keeping both of her hands together—in her mind. Synthia was just on the cold marble floor; tears flowing non-stop, feeble and awfully battered by the woman who carries the name of the man that she desires the most.

"Alyana! Tama na!" she flinched.

Alyana's fingers ran on her swelling cheek with a dried trail of blood, smiling from ear to ear as she is enjoying the wonderful scene of a languid version of Synthia "Today is just day 1, Attorney. Kayanin mo—but don't worry, you'll be dead meat in a few days and no one's gonna save you." a mischievous cackle echoed through the living room of an unfamiliar place.

"Tangina mo." she mumbled a curse.

"You know I can't hear you."

"Lumapit ka, sasabihin ko sayo." Synthia dared to say. She was slowly regaining her puissance. Alyana, curious of what she possibly said, bent over to know. "Ang sabi ko..." Synthia's hands above her nimbly reached for Alyana's hair "...Tangina mo." and successfully pulled her hair upwards.

"Aray! A-Araaaaay!" Alyana screamed and tried to shove Synthia's grip. And after Synthia was satisfied, she finally released Alyana with a triumphant smile.

Alyana's stare was glued on hers, resenting her even more for fighting back and destroying her hair. "Don't make me want to hurt your husband." Alyana threatened. And her face carved a deleterious smile, "Or should I say soon to be ex-husband."

"He's still my husband and you keep him out of this."

"Talaga? I heard you're over." Alyana's tone was teasing.

"Well, we didn't make it final which proves your statement still invalid."

"He even removed your ring, he's letting you go. And this time, you won't be able to run to Rio or Cyrus."

That name rang a bell inside her head, "Asan si Cyrus?"

"Nasa itaas." said Alyana and crossed her arms. "If you're too scared, I want you to know na nandito lang naman tayo sa bahay namin. Welcome to our humble abode, home wrecker."

Synthia grinned and inspected the place "Hindi worth it ang pagwelcome mo sakin. Umalis lang ang asawa mo ginawa mo na tong zoo? Sinasama mo pa ang anak mo sa kaanimalan mo." she managed to pull that off to annoy Alyana. The raging Alyana went straight to her and held her cheek, "Tumahimik ka ha."

"Let's do some chitchats, I really want to see you get hurt."

"Tangina mo!"

"Wala ka na bang ibang masabi? God." she rolled her eyes.

Alyana reached for her back and revealed a gun. Meanwhile, Synthia is not that scared of facing a gun right at her face. Her job defined death, everyday she comes into the firm with the feeling of having somebody pointing a gun on her spine; it is always between a matter of life and death. Her eyes were full of conviction, "Shoot me." said Synthia as her eyes showed no doubt of the words she chose to let go. But Alyana froze and looked at her, "Why the fuck can't you do it?" she asked but Alyana's hands still on the gun's trigger.
