34: The Clash

"How's the relationship?" Syn teased as Dawn came last. Her cheeks flushed in an instant and tried to conceal it with a confused facade. Sharon and Lea laughed, "Deny pa! We called Richard before you came to confirm the 'balikan' so wala ka nang masasabi."

"You did? Nakakaloka kayo!" Dawn sat down and drank a shot.

Lea chuckled, "We wouldn't know about it if Synthia didn't call Richard. So tell us more deets!" and their eyes were all on Dawn. "Why ako ang hotseat?" she asked and exchange looks with them who were dying to know the details. Dawn gulped and started sharing, "Well..."

"Well?!" Syn, Sharon and Lea chorused.

"Well, we ate dinner together the night Syn rushed to Danzel. He eventually told me he was a wreck when I left for England and he was on his knees—on! His! Knees and then asked me if I was willing to give him another chance sooooo I said yes because there was a wise woman who made me realize that it's not too late for us." she smiled at Syn who replied with a grin. "Naks naman! So loving naman ng magbarkada!" Lea exclaimed with the giddiness. They all looked at each other and got a glass with vodka, Syn proposed a toast for them. "I don't have any criteria on how to be the bestest friend but I know better than that, I can be a sister and I see you guys as my sisters also. Although Dawn and I are related." she smiled with tears brimming at the side. "Here's to the four of us! Astig at mababangis pero hindi hayop na mga babae!" Lea said as they clicked their shot glasses against each other.

"Bwiset, teka kakanta na kami ni Synthia!" Sharon stood up and got herself a microphone. Synthia also picked up another microphone and swayed as the first line came fast approaching "Here we go!" she cued.

Dawn got a call from Richard so she had to answer it. Meanwhile, Lea was just looking at Sharon and Syn having fun with their duet. Syn was looking at Lea like 'join-us-Lea-Salonga' but Lea preferred to look at them and laugh. They took charge of each parts and they really owned the song.

"Lea, it's your turn! Teka si Dawnie nawawala!" Sharon said.

"No, Chard called her. Ayoko talaga kumanta Ate Shawie! Eeeeeh ayoko talaga!" she fended as they got her from the sofa and handed her one of the microphones so she can sing. "Kindly sing it, pleaaaase?" Syn pleaded with her twinkling eyes. Lea rolled her eyeballs and got the microphone.

It was the all time favorite and mapanakit sana maulit muli.

Dawn got back and joined the vibe, the masakit was present in the atmosphere and it sure was thick. Syn tried to go with cheering Lea but the words just threw daggers to her heart and struck too deep that the pain started to muster. The music and Lea's synchronization went on, the pain was non-stop. And then the song reached it's end, "Kung kaya Kong umiwas na, di na sana lalapit pa."

She could've done that but fate just keeps on making it possible, they keep on meeting countless times and save each other's lives unbeknownst to their minds.

"Kung kaya Kong iwanan ka, Mahal parin Kita"

but she can't.

Here she is, hating the fact that a part of her still hopes that he could have and should have chose her. It doesn't matter if it's somewhere different; where loving him doesn't costs too much, where they can exists as husband and wife, where they don't need to be this confused with all the decisions. She has Rio, he has Alyana and yet she still has this in mind which is wrong.

I love Cyrus since then and maybe until forever but perhaps I'll love him tomorrow as a friend and nothing more nor less.

Another figure crossed her mind. What is she gonna do with Darius? She cannot avoid him, she cannot do anything to make him stop liking her—she is a complicated person to be attached to but Darius seemed to care less about it and accept everything. But her life is Rio now. She is passionate with him and she is in love with him, atleast she's not trying to make a fool out of herself in believing that she is. Is she not or Is she?
