36. Boner pills vlog (part 1)

Natalie was getting ready on the house. She would go out with her friends from LA. She was putting on mascara when David gave her a call. "Hey, where are you?" He quickly asked. "Home, getting ready. Why? What's up?" Natalie asked concerned. For a split second she thought that he wouldn't allow her to go out that night.

This has never happened by the way. He never actually told her what to do. She was his assistant but he was never rude or bossy towards her. Because, well on the one hand, he loves her too much to be rude to her, and on the other hand she never made his job difficult. She did everything to make him feel better. She never said "no" if she knew this would make him feel better. "No, no. Nothing. I just wanted to know if you left already" David replied and she smiled. He didn't know though. "What? Did you say something?" David asked.

Natalie closed her eyes and realized she didn't talk, as she was concentrating on putting highlight on her cheeks. "Oh, sorry. Nothing" she laughed at herself. "Do you have company?" David tried to sound cool. But his jealousy was still there. "Oh no. I'm alone" she replied still busy with her make up. She stopped doing what she was doing as she felt bad that she wasn't giving him the attention she should. "So, Yeah. I'm still home. Call me if you need me anything" she said again, making sure David had heard. "Okay" David said and right when he was about to talk, Alex came in the car. "Hey Nat" Alex greeted Natalie when he saw her name on David's screen. "Heey, Alex? What's up? How are you?" she asked her friend, who she hadn't talked to for weeks.

While Alex was letting her know on how his life was, David was thinking. "Nat" he said softly while his two friends were talking. She heard him, but she wasn't sure he had said her name so she and Alex continued talking. "Nat!" He said like he was whispering again and Alex stopped talking. Natalie waited for him to talk. "How long will it take you to be ready?"

Natalie tried to calculate the minutes of each step she had to complete until she was ready. "Not long. Maybe 20 minutes max" she answered curious to why he had asked her that. But she didn't overthink about it. It was David, who knew what he had in mind. "I'm coming to get you and drive you to the club, okay?" He said softly. He was scared for her to drive alone at that time. "It's okay, David. I'll go by myself. Unless you want to come with me" Natalie honestly said. "We'll talk about it. We're coming" he put an end to the call and continued driving.

Was that too much? He thought to himself. He tried to think of other girl friends he had and if he would do this about them. Probably, he tried to convince himself that Natalie wasn't special to him. But he couldn't.

Alex was staring at his friend being lost in his thought. He wanted to talk to him about Natalie, because he was sure that his friend was thinking of her, but on the other hand, he didn't know what to say. After all, it was David's decision to confess his feelings.

A few minutes later, David arrived at their house and Natalie was waiting for them in front of the door. She looked beautiful. She entered the car and greeted the two boys. "So what were you up to?" She asked as she saw the camera recording. David held the camera and let his assistant know that few minutes prior, the two boys had taken boner pills together.
They all laughed and Natalie joked about them. Alex was laughing when he said "Yeah I hope you guys are laughing now, but don't forget that it will be just you two in that house all night" he laughed even more. "Good luck David" the three friends all laughed but David and Natalie both felt awkward as they realized that it was true. It was going to be a looong night.

There was an awkward silence and David realized that he couldn't use that footage for his vlog. He had just broken up with Liza, he couldn't put the part were Alex is basically saying that David and Natalie will be hooking up later.

Alex broke the silence by trying to be funny, he knew that David and Natalie felt awkward by his comment but he was glad he had said that.

When David parked outside the club, Alex stepped out of the car to call one of his friends. David looked at him trying to realize if he had done that on purpose so he and Natalie could talk. David stopped recording and turned to look at her. Her eyes were watery for a reason and she was already looking at him.

David smiled, they had been best friends for so many years, and the tension was never like that between them. "You look good" David finally said and Natalie blushed. "Thanks Dave. So do you" she tilted her head to rest it on the seat. "So will you come to the party?" "I don't think so Nat, no. Sorry" he looked like he actually meant it. "I have to film with Alex" his finger shows their friend. "Call me when you're done. I'll be there to pick you up" David suggested. "Well, call me if you need anything. I'll be around"

Natalie's ears were now red and her heart was beating, only he knew that she wasn't on good terms with her boyfriend. They had basically broken up. "Aw David I love you" she grabbed his hand and immediately took it back. She meant it, they both knew it.

Natalie got out of the car and David waited for her to go inside the club. He drove off with Alex and when an hour later he was done, he drove Alex to his house. When the car stopped right down Alex's apartment, Alex looked at his friend "it's never too late and it's never too early you know" he walked away leaving David lost in his thoughts.

He started driving and realized that he didn't want to go home alone. Their house without Natalie was just a building. So he started driving around the place Natalie was at, listening to music. He could be home editing, or he could be somewhere filming, but he decided to be at peace for once.
