12. lie detector test (not BTS from actual vlogs)

David laid on the floor and called Natalie's name. Natalie rolled her eyes. It was the fifth time calling her name and not saying anything. It was like he just wanted to see her stand up.

She walked towards him and looked at him. Was he sick? Was he an idiot? She couldn't understand the difference. He was only rubbing his eyes and calling her name.

When she realizes he wasn't going to say something, she started walking away. It was days like this that made her think that she should quit. But she cared about him too much to leave him on his own.

David saw his assistant but most importantly best friend, walking away with an attitude. He was sorry, but that was the reason he wasn't sharing his problems today. She wouldn't mind, obviously. So why bother her with his problems.

David sighed realizing Natalie was getting tired. She was so right. He was being a baby. He stood up and walked up to her. He touched her arm lightly to make her understand he was right behind her.

"I'm sorry. Neither of us are good today" he apologized and Natalie nodded.

"Yeah. What is up with you?" she asked concerned.

"No content" two words that made her understand his behavior the whole day.

"Oh" she nodded again. It was one of the problems she couldn't help. She was no Youtuber. But she still asked. "Can I do anything?"

"No" David hates using her for views. All the times people thought he was using her for views, he knew that the content with Natalie always seemed funny to him, so that was the reason he would put it in the vlog. It was not once or twice the times that he cut clips with Natalie to not make it too obvious that he liked her reactions.

The conversation was over and a few minutes later Natalie locked herself into her room to call Jason for help. She wanted to help her best friend find content but she didn't know what to do. While on the phone with their friend she shyly suggested lie detector test since he's already done one of these. Jason loved the idea and reassured her that it would be great.

A few hours later, Jason knocks on the door, while behind him there are lots and lots of their friends. Everyone got comfortable on the couch and Natalie went to David's bedroom to ask him to come outside.

She knocked on his door, and waited for an answer. David wouldn't answer so she kept on knocking. David opened the door wearing only boxers "what's up?" He asked as his hair was still wet.

"I'm so glad I didn't open that door sooner" Natalie laughed and announced that people were waiting for him.

David blushes and laughed at his friends comment and put on some clothes (black) before he came out to meet all his friends.

Soon enough he realized that the lie detector guy was back. He hugged him and decided who would be tested first.

They asked some questions to Jeff and then Erin. "David it's your turn now" Jeff shouted and David sat on the chair.

They asked him some questions to which he answered truthfully. It was Jason's turn again. "Ooh I've got a good one but I don't know if I should say it" Jason smiled.

David not knowing what his friend had in mind and also being desperate for content said to Jason "Do it!"

Jason looked at Natalie standing up next to the bathroom door, away from everyone who was participating in this vlog. "If you had to save one of them who would you chose? Liza or Natalie?"

David got really sweaty really fast. The man noticed but didn't say anything. He waited for the answer.

Jason looked at David's eyes widened trying to cover up the fact that his heart was beating faster than ever. "If I saved one of them, what would happen to the other, cause I'm not killing either of them"

Jason smiled. "I'll make this easy to you. One of them, you will spend every day with for the rest of your life, and the other you will never see again. Natalie or Liza"

David wanted to look at Natalie but he shouldn't. His forehead was dripping wet. "Natalie. I'd choose Natalie"

Half of the people looked at Natalie and the other half to the machine waiting for it to say if it was a lie.

"It's the truth" the man said, reassuring everyone in the room. Natalie smiled, and quickly walked away so nobody notices, but Jeff was already looking at her. So he saw her.

"Okay that's it. I don't want to answer anything else" David shouted when he saw Natalie walking to the back yard and Jeff following her.

Maybe he was jealous. Or he was just concerned for his best friend. Either way he followed both of them. "Natalie!"

Natalie turned to look both at Jeff and David behind her.

"Why don't you have the test?" Jeff suggested when he realized that neither of them were talking.

"No, thank you" Natalie kindly declined the offer.

"Just one question" David said. "The rest of us will agree on one question and you will answer only that"

When she agreed, Jeff and David went inside to discuss with some other people the question they would ask Natalie.

"Do you love David" Jeff quickly suggested but David said no. Jason said to ask about YouTube while Joe tried to convince David to ask her about him.

"What about would you quit working for David" Lorraine suggested and Jeff agreed.

"No. I know what I'll ask her" David smiled. "Natalie! We're ready"

Natalie sat down and the man strapped her up.

"Are you ready?" He said and asked the typical questions. "Would you marry me?"

Natalie blushed. And David smiled but locked his eyes on her, he wasn't even filming. He wasn't doing this for the vlogs. He wanted to know the answer. He was just looking at her. "Well..."

"For a vlog, or for citizenship or out of love. Would you?" David made it easy for her to answer.

"You don't have to say why. Just yes or no" Jason said holding his camera.

"Yes" Natalie said and refused to look at anybody else than David. She was so shy.

When the man announced that she was saying the truth, David and Natalie's eyes still locked up, the man let her free and she stood up.

She didn't say anything and walked to her bedroom. David smiled looking at her leaving. "Who's next?" He said excited still looking at the empty hall.

/I know this hasn't happened, but I wrote it a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to share it. Sorry this is completely different than what that book is about/
