55. New York

—this is probably going to be too short, I just had to write something.. I posted it even if it's too short, you guys deserve it—

Landing in New York, the air felt different. David felt free in the big apple. Even if people still knew him there, it still felt away from home, so he still thought he could do anything without getting recognized. Big lie.

On the way to their hotel, David looked at Natalie. She was smiling, appreciating the cold weather. Jason made fun of how Natalie is more excited for the food than the other projects.

"What do you mean by other projects? We're only eating as long as we're in New York. I'm not taking no for an answer" Natalie continued joking with her friends.

"When I tell Natalie that we have to go to a meeting, she's always excited for the buffet" David laughed with his own joke and turned to look at Natalie.

His laugh immediately cut off, his heart started beating really loud. She was already looking at him, with her heart eyes and he felt like he was flying.

She understood that her look made him uncomfortable so she looked away, right after she hid a smile as she was happy that he reacted that way.

That was her way of flirting. Her not referring to him as "dumbass" but instead looking lovingly into his eyes as he's speaking, was her way of flirting. That's the most she could do.

David on the other hand, didn't know what actual flirt meant. He could be flirting with everyone unintentionally but when he wanted to hit on Natalie it any other person in that matter, he couldn't even talk, he could only get more blushed.

"David" Jason called him a few times after he had zoned out thinking of Natalie. "Are you ready?"

They rested for a while and then met up with a few people. It was getting late and Natalie couldn't stop thinking about that one restaurant she stumbled upon Instagram. "Are you guys hungry?"

"Soo hungry" Jason answered and that's all she wanted to hear.

"I found a great place for us to eat" she simply said and grabbed her purse. David sat on her bed admiring once again how happy she got because they were about to eat. "Get up" she grabbed David's hand and made him walk right behind her.

On the way to the restaurant the Uber stopped the car as Jason had asked him to do. David and Natalie were alone in the car. He caught himself staring so he thought he souls talk. "You look beautiful"

"Thanks Dave. You look good too" she blushed and immediately tried to think of something else. But it was like her mind couldn't think of anything or anyone else right now. While she was trying to find a new topic to discuss, Jason and the driver entered the car.

Natalie let a breath out as she didn't have to talk about something now that Jason was in the car. David noticed her stress and found it adorable. Them trying to be comfortable with their feelings was something totally new, and it was difficult for her still to be okay with her feelings towards David. Her cute stress made David laugh. "Whaat?" she asked knowing that he would make fun of her.

"Nothing" he lied still smiling. While looking out of the window, his hand searched for hers and caressed her finger. She felt shivers all over her body, and she looked at David.

Her hand felt like a brick. She didn't want to move it and make him move his hand. There was only one thing to do and make him realize that she liked it.

She did moved hand, and placed it on his knee. She caressed his leg and when he smiled but didn't look at her, she moved closer. She placed her head on his shoulder and he smiled. He placed his hand on top of hers, and let her body warm his just by being so close.
