22. The one with the big surprise part1

It was early in the morning and David was still asleep. He had been private about his laptop. Natalie didn't know the reason but she still respected him.

If he didn't want her helping him with his vlogs and the editing, then she wouldn't help him.

She walked around the house and when she entered David's room she saw his laptop. It was right next to him, he was basically hugging it while sleeping.

Natalie walked towards the bed to grab it, when Joe showed up. "Hey Nat"

"Joe why are you here?" she smiled and walked out of the room to talk. She didn't want to wake David up. He was up really late editing. "That's what happens when you don't want my help" she thought to herself last night.

"Well, I came to talk to David, he wanted me to do something for tonight" Joe tried to explain. It was hard though since Natalie wasn't supposed to know what David had planned for her.

"Do something? What do you mean? Like, bits?" she tried to understand and when he shook his head she remembered. "Wait a minute, tonight you said? There's no way because he said we should go somewhere with the car.. he said it's important for the vlog, Will you come with us too? Do you know what that's about?"

"What? No" Joe lied. "I won't be there, I don't know what you're talking about!" Joe walked towards the door. "Anyway, I better go. I was obviously mistaken, David probably meant some other day. Anyway, bye Nat" he quickly hugged his friend and left. Leaving Natalie alone in the huge room.

She walked to David's room to see once again, David sleeping next to his laptop. "Ugh, I hate when he's so secretive" she thought and grabbed it.

David eyes opened wide and he took his laptop from her hands. He left the laptop on the other side of the bed making room for Natalie. "What time is it?" He asked like he didn't just violently grab the laptop out of Natalie's hands.

Natalie answered and tilted her head waiting for an explanation. But she didn't get one.

"Oh my God it's so early, we don't have to be on set for another two hours, come lay with me" he proposed and hit the mattress next to him.

Natalie faked a smile and sat next to him. "Dave" she just said and looked at the laptop next to him. "I wanna see"

"No" David said serious and placed the laptop on the floor.

Natalie looked at him while her eyes watered because she was angry. "David. Let me see" she basically warned him before her whole body was on top of him trying to reach the laptop.

His hand stopped hers. They were holding hands when their faces were too close. Her red eyes looked straight into his. Her jaw clinched and he let out a breath.

When she realized that he was finally going to talk, she sat up and looked at him. "Okay, I'm hearing" she waited.

"Natalie, there's nothing in this laptop that I don't want you to see" he lied. "Really, I just didn't want your help in editing" he continued lying. And she seemed to be buying it. "Look, I don't want to be harsh or anything but, I don't like the way you edit"

Natalie teared up even more. Now she wished that David was hiding something.

"I know that you work really hard, but I just don't like your editing. I just don't. Please don't be mad at me, I just don't want you helping me and Joe okay?" He touched her hand.

She looked up to see David's face. She had no words so she just nodded. She silently stood up and walked out of the room.

David laid on his back. He hated how sad he made her. He quickly stood up and run behind her. When he grabbed her hand to tell her he was lying, he regretted it. It would hopefully be a big surprise.

Natalie waited for him to say something since he grabbed her. "I'm really sorry" he said once again. "Are we okay?"

"Yeah David" she nodded but a tear still run down her cheek. "We're not kids anymore. I'm fine"

David wiped her tear and gazed into her eyes. "I'm so glad I have you" he hugged her and she laughed.

When a few minutes later they dressed up to go to David's show, they had to drive all the way to the show with the Ferrari.

Thank god it was loud from the wind and Natalie could stay silent. She didn't want to talk, it felt weird.

They finally arrived and they went to his dressing room. It was were Natalie hang out while David was filming the show. Thy had arrived pretty early given the fact that they left the house to avoid being alone.

They sat on the dressing room and mrs Louise came by to talk to David. She explained the plan. "We might have to stay a little longer. I mean not that much. But a couple more hours than usual" she told him not waiting for him to disagree but he did.

"No Louise I can't. I have to be somewhere by seven" he basically begged the woman.

"I don't think I can do something about that kid. But let me talk to Steve" Louise left the room and David was alone with Natalie again.

She breathed knowing that this was awkward for both of them so she wanted to talk. "What's tonight? Where are we going?"

"Well, you won't understand. It's business stuff" he avoided talking to her about tonight.

"Okay I might suck at editing but I'm not stupid alright? I know business" she hit her hand on the table and hurt herself.

"You don't suck at editing" he said without even realizing it.

"David you don't have to be nice about it" she said while rubbing her hand.

David kneeled down in front of her and rubbed her hand. "Does this hurt?"

"What's happening tonight?" Natalie ignored his question.

"This big meeting. You'll see. We'll go together" he lied once again. "Now are you alright?"

"Yeah" she nodded when Louise came in the room and was shocked at what she saw. Everyone there thought that Natalie was his girlfriend and seeing David on the floor holding her hand, made Louise think that he was proposing.
