21. Partners vlog

David was driving his Tesla, and weirdly enough he was on his own. Natalie was busy that morning so David had to go to some places alone.

He hadn't gotten breakfast yet and neither had Natalie, so when David proposed eating breakfast, Natalie agreed and he said he would pick her up.

They hung up the phone and in less than fifteen minutes David is waiting for Natalie outside their house.

As he was waiting for her, he was thinking to himself, how comfortable he was around Natalie, how easy this was. They were basically about to go on a date, but it was like they were married.

Natalie closed the door behind her and entered the car. She sat next to David and they started talking about the place they wanted to eat. As always, Natalie was the one that got to decide. When her phone rang she joked right before she answered the call. "One of these days you'll be the one to decide mr Dobrik"

The way she said his last name made him feel some type of way, and it was showing. He didn't want Natalie to notice, it would be so awkward. Damn it he had to stop it.

He turned to look at her that was obviously a very bad idea. Her being all responsible and girlfriend material made him feel even more hot. Until she finally said one thing.

She referred to him as her partner. This made his heart go from beating really fast, to not beating at all. He couldn't know if she wanted it to sound like he thought of it.

Partner was the perfect word for them. Except for idiots, or soulmates. Anyway, partners was a great word.

When she hung up the phone she noticed him staring. "What are you looking at?" Natalie awkwardly asked. She hadn't realized that she had actually said partner.

David opened his camera and burst into laughter to make this more comedic than romantic, "you said partner"

David kept making fun of Natalie saying he was her partner and even if at first she thought it was weird too, now she couldn't understand.

"Why are you making such a big deal out of this?" Natalie asked.

David couldn't answer! He couldn't say that he was excited, or that he liked it. Or that he wanted to use it too. "Because it felt like you always say it but this time I'm actually in the car to hear you" he quickly lied but he actually made her blush.

Now she was uncomfortable, this conversation made her look like she has a crush on David. And she had, but he wasn't supposed to know.

When they stopped laughing, he parked. "You still wanna eat with me right?" He smiled.

"David it's not a big deal, you are my partner!" she closed the door and walked into the restaurant.

David laughed "I guess" he followed her.

They sat on a table away from the people, they both ordered pancakes and orange juice. Natalie smiled when the waiter brought them their juices. "You have an impact on me" she joked because he was the one that always had orange juice.

"That's what partners do!" David laughed and held Natalie's hand to make her feel better in case she was bothered by his comments.

Natalie ignored his comment and started talking about work. David made sure she was okay and then he talked too, until Carly called him.

David squeezed Natalie's hand to make her stop talking for a while. "Hi" he answered.

Natalie wasn't listening to David talking on his phone, instead she started eating. David noticed, and hit her hand playfully.

"Hey, don't eat without me!" He smiled and Natalie laughed. "Yeah, we're eating" David said to Carly, who had obviously asked what they were doing. "No it's just us" David answered and smiled to himself. "Just me and my partner" he casually said to tease Natalie.

Carly didn't know why he had said that, but Natalie grabbed David's phone. "Yeah it's me and my partner who won't let me care and help him" she gave David back his phone and even though Carly was speaking neither David nor Natalie were paying attention to her.

"What do you mean?" David said confused. "I always want your help and I like it when you care"

"Well, I was trying to help with a sponsorship when I called you partner. They wouldn't stop asking to bother you, they only stopped when I told them I'm your partner" Natalie explained and David smiled.

When he reached to hold Natalie's hand he realized he was still holding his phone. "Carly I'll call you later okay?" He hung up the phone.

"I'm only making fun of it because I love it" David confessed.

"No, you hated it I could tell. I won't say it again" Natalie said like she was saying she was sorry.

"You clearly don't know me well then" David got closer. "Because I really really liked the way you said it" it made Natalie smile. "And it's true.We are partners"

"Aw Davy I love you". Natalie played with her best friends hair.

David looked into her eyes. Once again he didn't know how he was so lucky to have Natalie by his side. "You know the answer to that" he took her hands from his hair and kissed them.

"It would be nice to hear it some times" Natalie acted like a baby.

"I love you Natalina" David took a bite of his pancakes and made Natalie laugh. This little boy owned her heart. The guy that gets no sleep because he works too much, but still finds time to take her out for breakfast and manages to make her laugh always.
