Natalie was never the person to get sick. Even if she had a cold, she didn't let anyone notice. She didn't like it when people pity her or when she felt unable to do some sort of things.
She had been feeling weird lately, she could tell she was getting worse. She knew her body too well.
Unfortunately she was right, as she was driving her mother back to the airport, she was feeling really cold, a few minutes later she started sweating. She didn't want to tell her mother. Even though she knew it was just a cold, she knew that her mother would overreact.
Her mother glanced at Natalie and noticed her sweaty forehead, she immediately knew what was wrong and started listing things to do that would make her feel better.
"Mom, it's okay, I'll be alright tomorrow!" Natalie smiled while she was driving. "Don't think of me" she parked the car and kissed her mother on the cheek. "I love you, okay? Call me when you get home"
"Don't go out that much, ask for David to take a few days off. Drink tea and eat ramen. Take care of yourself baby" her mother was surprisingly cool with leaving Natalie. "I'll talk to David" she screamed last minute.
"No, mom!" Natalie sighed at the thought of her mother bothering David with Natalie's problems.
"Shh" her mother smiled and winked at her as she walked into the airport.
Natalie got in the car and checked her phone. David had called her three times, and she only left her phone for two minutes. "What?" she waited for him to boss around while she put on seatbelt.
"Can you come and pick me up from Jonah's?" David asked and she headed his way.
"Of course" she drove fast, but before she picked David up, she wanted to pick some things from the pharmacy she knew she would need. She hid them in the back seat, so David couldn't see them, and parked outside of the Antonyan's. She called him to come outside, since she wasn't into walking in the cold. When he got in the car, he smiled.
"Why are you wearing this?" he pointed at the clickbait sweater she was wearing meaning that it was too hot outside for that.
"It's your merch Dave" she acted like she didn't understand the reason he commented on her outfit. He laughed it off, and as soon as he was ready to answer, his phone rang. It was Natalie's mom, he thought of letting her know, but he hoped she was calling for a secret or some kind of surprise.
"Hello" he answered holding back her name. Natalie's mother started talking to him about how Natalie was sick. She wanted her daughter to rest and she knew Natalie too well, to think that she wouldn't rest. "Of course" he answered when she simply asked him to not ask for too much, these days, while also letting him know if she gets worse. "I'll call you whatever I need. Thank you so much"
He smiled at his phone. Natalie noticed that and she asked him who he was talking to. "Your mother" he laughed and looked at Natalie.
She rolled her eyes but laughed at how he reacted. She imagined all the things her mother would have said to David. It was hilarious. "Don't listen to her" she laughed with her best friend.
They parked in the garage and they walked in together, Taylor was waiting for them inside, waiting for orders. She needed to know what to cook or buy for lunch. "Maybe a soup" David suggested and Natalie laughed.
"No Taylor do whatever you want" Natalie said and walked to her room knowing that David wouldn't want to be anywhere close to her these days. She changed into comfortable clothes and latex in her bed, covering her whole body with a blanket.
Sooner or later David knocked on the door, wearing pajamas too, and payed on her bed next to her, on top of the covers. The fact that he was so close to her, made her confused. "Why are you here? We always hang out at my room or the living room?" he asked her and got under the covers too.
"Because, I figured you wouldn't want to be close to me" right before he asked why, she continued "you do understand that I could get you sick right?"
David smiled "yeah" he paused. "I know" he noticed her trembling and held her hand. It was cold so he held it with both his arms and tried to warm her. "Come here" he opened his arms and waited for her to get comfortable in his arms. He kept rubbing her back trying to make her feel better, but the thing that he didn't know that her whole body could be cold like ice, but her cheeks felt warm and red. Them cuddling made her feel really good, she couldn't stop smiling.
He pulled away to look at her face. She had her eyes closed and was enjoying his hug. "Do you feel better?" he asked and once she agreed, he made her follow him to the living room.
He made her sit close to the fireplace and covered her with another blanket. He walked to the kitchen to pick up the soups and say goodbye to Taylor. Natalie waved at her friend from afar and started choosing movies on Netflix. "Movie or show?" she asked feeling extremely happy that she was doing this with David.
"Whatever, I'll be knocked out in a matter of seconds" he laughed while walking towards her holding their soups. He handed her the one and left the other on the table.
While glancing at the fireplace, he realized that unlike Natalie, he wasn't feeling cold at all, and he knew he wanted to be with Nat under the covers. So to be able to survive the warmth, he slowly took of his sweater. His body touched hers under the covers and the movie Natalie had picked started rolling.
"Thanks" Natalie blushed knowing that there was no reason to blush. She waited for a couple of seconds and then sat up to look more towards him. She gave him a little kiss on the cheek, as thank you. She knew that David wasn't always like this. And he definitely wasn't like this with everyone.
"Always" he left his soup on the table once again, to cuddle Natalie. His whole body resting on hers. They were alone in this massive house, and they were on top of each other like there was no room anywhere else. Like he needed her body on his side, to survive.
